Originally titled “The Woman in the White Car,” “No Snowflake Is Pure” brings a breathtaking encounter between two women caught in a vortex of truth, memory, and guilt.

The film follows Do Kyung (Jung Ryeo-won) who rushes her sister to the hospital in a bloody state. In a state of panic, she gives contradictory statements to policewoman Hyun Joo (Lee Jung-eun). As each person recounts what happened from different perspectives, the truth behind the incident is gradually revealed through intertwined memories and lies, creating a dramatic psychological picture.

“No Snowflake Is Pure” marks Jung Ryeo-won’s return to the big screen after 7 years since “Gate” (2018). She is one of the most sophisticated actresses in Korean cinema, known as “Hyun Bin’s first love” from the hit movie “My Lovely Sam Soon” (2005).
As Do Kyung, the actress brings a completely new image, strong but hurt, sober but full of fear, deeply portraying the character's inner turmoil when standing in the center of the case. Her panicked eyes, her bewildered face as if she had just witnessed something horrifying, make her character pitiful but also unpredictable - a "witness" who could also be a potential "suspect".

Lee Jung-eun, the actress who starred in the Oscar-winning masterpiece “Parasite” (“Parasite” (2019), continues to affirm her masterful acting ability through the role of police officer Hyun Joo in “No Snowflakes in Books”.
If in “Parasite”, Lee Jung-eun impressed the audience with the image of a mysterious housekeeper, then in the new work, she transforms into a steadfast policewoman, but hidden deep are psychological wounds that hinder her pursuit of the truth - a role that requires emotional depth and delicate restraint.
Director Christine KO shared her happiness at collaborating with two of Korea's top actresses in her directorial debut. At the film's press conference in Korea, director Christine KO shared that the film was completed in just 14 days of filming, during the peak of the Covid-19 pandemic in 2022. After more than 3 years since the start of filming, the director expressed her joy and emotion at finally being able to introduce this brainchild to the audience.
Before its official release in Korea, the film “No Snowflake Is Pure” had achieved many notable achievements at international film festivals. The work was honored as “Best International Feature” at the 22nd San Diego International Film Festival. Previously, at the 26th Bucheon Horror-Fantasy Film Festival (BIFAN), the film made a splash when it brought home the “Fantastic Actor” award for Jung Ryeo-won and the “Watcha’s Pick: Feature” award. In addition, the film was also selected to be screened in the “Thrill” category at the 66th BFI London Film Festival.
