According to Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman, Apple is accelerating its software update cycle, with the next major beta iOS 26.2 expected to launch as early as November 4, right after the iOS 26.1 update is widely released on November 3.
Gurman revealed that the iOS 26.1 update is expected to be a minor update, adding a Tinted feature to increase opacity and contrast, making the Liquid Glass design interface more bold. Apple said that this change comes from feedback from beta users, who wanted a less transparent and high-contrast version of Liquid Glass.
At the moment, the source revealed that the first beta of iOS 26.2 does not have any new features. However, this may change over time, just like the Tinted interface on iOS 26.1 only appeared in beta 4.
iOS 26 brings the biggest interface overhaul since iOS 7 with the Liquid Glass design language. Inspired by liquid glass, every element from icons, widgets to the control center is covered in a translucent glass effect, with depth and vivid light reflection.
The design is both beautiful and smart, allowing icons and buttons to expand and change dynamically with your actions, creating a smooth, natural, and seamless experience. From the lock screen, to the minimalist Camera app, to the edge-to-edge Safari, everything is synchronized to create a fresh, modern feel.
With the latest version of iOS, the core applications have also been comprehensively upgraded. In particular, the phone application has a unified interface, showing recent calls and voicemail on the same screen.
Call Screening uses AI to automatically answer unknown numbers, helping to filter information before answering. Group messaging supports creating surveys and customizing wallpapers. CarPlay applies the Liquid Glass interface, supports Live Activities and allows control of more car features.
