This is a series of annual, interdisciplinary, multidisciplinary international scientific conferences, founded by Professor Phan Le Ha in 2009, and built and developed over the years by Associate Professor Liam C. Kelley, with the persistent support of Dr. Le Thuy Linh.
The event is scheduled to take place from December 12-15. The School of Interdisciplinary Sciences and Arts, Vietnam National University , Hanoi is the co-organizer of the 15th conference.
In 2025, the International Conference Connecting Vietnam - "Engaging with Vietnam" took place with the theme: "Knowledge creation, creative industry, education and the AI era: Looking back and looking forward to the future".
The conference aims to promote in-depth, open and highly critical academic dialogues around topics of knowledge, education, culture, technology, innovation and development in the context of Vietnam's engagement with the world.
At the same time, it opens up new approaches to creating and sharing knowledge about Vietnam from both traditional fields such as social sciences and humanities to interdisciplinary fields such as arts, creative industries, education, media, digital transformation and sustainable development.
In addition, strengthen the connection and cooperation between the domestic and international academic community. Thereby, create a research and innovation network that is in-depth, sustainable and intergenerational.
During the 4-day event, the conference is expected to welcome more than 300 domestic and international delegates, with nearly 10 plenary sessions, more than 40 parallel sessions, book and author introduction sessions, and many academic, cultural and artistic interactive activities revolving around this year's theme.
Engaging with Vietnam 2025 is expected to yield works and knowledge products of academic and practical value, including research reports, publications, visual and audio materials, and interdisciplinary collaboration initiatives.
In addition, expand the network of international scholars and experts interested in Vietnam, contributing to the formation of in-depth research and development projects with regional and global linkages. In particular, promote educational, artistic and creative industry projects based on local knowledge combined with global thinking. From there, contribute to shaping innovation policies and practices in the future.
