Lao Cai: One-side, one-level command-agency exercise in 2025

On November 29 and 30, Lao Cai province organized a one-sided, one-level command-agency exercise with a part of live soldiers in 2025.

With the topic "Infantry Regiment 254 was reinforced with technical weapons, marched into the combat assembly area to coordinate with the Defense Command of Area 2 - Bao Thang; Si Ma Cai Border Post in the provincial defense area to attack the enemy defending in mountainous terrain".

The exercise consists of four phases: Changing to combat readiness, marching into the evacuation area; organizing combat preparations and practicing combat.

This is the first regional defense exercise after the operation of the two-level local government model, which is of great significance in reviewing and perfecting the leadership, direction and command mechanism; enhancing the effectiveness of combat coordination between forces in the defense area, consolidating combat readiness, and meeting the requirements of promptly handling defense and security situations in the area.

Speaking at the closing ceremony of the exercise, Mr. Ngo Hanh Phuc, Vice Chairman of Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee, assessed that the exercise was a great success, completing its tasks excellently. The Party Committee and commanders of agencies and units clearly defined the exercise tasks, promoted the roles and responsibilities of the components and forces in preparing and practicing the exercise with high determination and responsibility.

Through the exercise, the Party Committee and unit commanders will continue to lead and direct the building, consolidation and enhancement of potentials in the defense area; at the same time, supplement and develop combat plans, ready to successfully handle situations that arise, not to be passive or surprised, especially when implementing two-level local government.

The units have built a combat shooting practice ground, a Command Post in the evacuation area, and a secret assembly area (assumed) to meet the mission requirements. The exercise took place under conditions where the units had to carry out many tasks at the same time and the weather conditions were unfavorable, but the units demonstrated high political determination in leadership, direction, and did a good job of preparing for the exercise.

In addition, the units have done a good job of propaganda, arousing the high determination of officers, soldiers and local people in the exercise area. Participating with high political responsibility, the people in the exercise area unanimously supported the facilities and materials serving the exercise tasks.

On this occasion, the People's Committee of Lao Cai province and the Provincial Military Command awarded 15 collectives and 30 individuals with outstanding achievements in the exercise.
