The National Assembly Standing Committee has just issued Resolution No. 1257/NQ-UBTVQH15 on the arrangement of commune-level administrative units of Binh Dinh province for the 2023-2025 period.

Accordingly, the National Assembly Standing Committee resolved to arrange commune-level administrative units in Quy Nhon City as follows:

Merge the entire natural area of ​​0.97km2, population of 17,954 people of Le Hong Phong ward and the entire natural area of ​​0.69km2, population of 9,311 people of Ly Thuong Kiet ward into Tran Phu ward.

After the merger, Tran Phu ward has a natural area of ​​2.32km2 and a population of 38,806 people.

Merge the entire natural area of ​​0.47km2, population of 10,001 people of Tran Hung Dao ward and the entire natural area of ​​0.57km2, population of 14,090 people of Le Loi ward into Thi Nai ward.

After merging, Thi Nai ward has a natural area of ​​2.94km2 and a population of 36,458 people.

After the arrangement, Quy Nhon City has 17 commune-level administrative units (including 12 wards and 5 communes).

The resolution also decided to establish Cat Khanh town (Phu Cat district) on the basis of the entire natural area of ​​30.74 km2 and population of 17,358 people of Cat Khanh commune. After the establishment of the town, Phu Cat district has 18 commune-level administrative units (including 15 communes and 3 towns).

After rearranging commune-level administrative units, Binh Dinh province has 11 district-level administrative units (including 8 districts, 2 towns and 1 city); 155 commune-level administrative units (including 115 communes, 28 wards and 12 towns).

The Resolution takes effect from December 1, 2024.
