After one month, more than 64,000 train tickets for the Lunar New Year 2026 have been sold.

According to Saigon Railway Transport Joint Stock Company, train tickets for the Year of the Horse 2026 were widely sold from September 20. As of October 20, after a month of sale, the total number of tickets sold was 64,200, reaching about 73% compared to the same period of tickets sold for the Year of the Snake 2025.

Of the total tickets sold, online channels through websites such as dsvn.vn, vetau.com.vn and vetauonline.vn account for 66%, the remaining 34% are sold directly at stations.

Before Tet, there are still many train tickets available. From February 3 to 9, 2026 (before December 23) and from February 14 to 16, 2026 (December 27 to 29), passengers can still buy tickets to all stations.

During the peak period from February 10 to 14, 2026 (December 23 to 27), the entire system will have about 2,500 non-stop seats.

Of which, the Saigon - Di An - Bien Hoa to Vinh and Hanoi routes still have 1,045 tickets on February 10, 199 tickets on February 11, 121 tickets on February 12, 175 tickets on February 13 and 1,044 tickets on February 14.

Most of the remaining tickets on mid-peak days are soft seats, with terminals ending in Vinh.

The railway industry has also opened ticket sales for regular Thong Nhat trains running during the 2026 New Year holiday, on routes such as Saigon - Hanoi, Saigon - Da Nang , Saigon - Nha Trang and Saigon - Phan Thiet.

When passenger travel demand increases, Saigon Railway Transport Joint Stock Company will organize additional trains and add more cars to meet maximum travel demand of people during holidays and Tet.
