Durian prices today, March 7, 2024, are still stable at a high level. The best Ri6 durian stands at the highest level of 142,000 VND/kg. The price of Thai durian in the Southwest region is still at the highest level of 200,000 VND/kg. In 2024, durian output will increase, with additional growing area codes and packaging facilities eligible for export, with the expectation of increasing export turnover.
Specifically, the price of durian at the garden today: Ri6 durian is at 65,000 - 142,000 VND/kg; Thai durian is at 85,000 - 200,000 VND/kg; Musangking durian is at 160,000 - 190,000 VND/kg.

In recent days, durian prices have been continuously increasing, many gardeners do not have durian to sell to traders. The reason for the increase in durian prices is due to a shortage of supply.
From the beginning of 2024, off-season durian growers were excited when the garden price was high. With the current durian price, according to gardeners' calculations, even though they had to invest heavily to process the off-season fruit, the profit would be up to around 1 billion VND/ha.
Currently, the local agricultural sector is actively promoting and mobilizing organizations and individuals to properly implement safety measures in durian production and packaging; at the same time, strengthening training and communication on regulations on growing area codes and packaging facility codes, focusing on guiding organizations and individuals to properly apply cultivation processes, record keeping and logbooks during the production process to serve traceability according to the requirements of importing countries.
Along with that, the local agricultural sector also promotes propaganda and mobilizes people to cooperate and link with businesses in organizing production, forming concentrated, large-scale durian growing areas, ensuring standards for granting growing area codes and granting packing facility codes for export.
It is known that from March onwards, when Thai durian is in season, domestic durian prices may change, but the price will go up or down depending on the demand of export markets.
Mr. Dang Phuc Nguyen, General Secretary of the Vietnam Fruit and Vegetable Association, also acknowledged that in the first two months of this year, the supply of off-season durian was limited, so the price remained sky-high.
In 2023 alone, Vietnamese durian exports to the Chinese market will reach 2.1 billion USD. The Vietnam Fruit and Vegetable Association expects durian exports to reach 3.5 billion USD in 2024.
