Sharing love with the 42nd Blood Donation Day of Dong A University

The first Voluntary Blood Donation Festival in 2025 is also the 42nd festival held at Dong A University. On the morning of May 14, many Dong A University students, including many first-year and second-year students, and young people participating for the first time, arrived early to complete the procedures, have their health checked, and donate blood. Although there was a lot of nervousness and confusion in front of the needle, they were still determined to register to participate and always kept a positive spirit to spread love.

Students of Dong A University participated in voluntary blood donation on the morning of May 14.

Having donated blood three times, Hong Tham, a third-year student majoring in Business Administration, said: “Every time I donate blood, I feel the meaning and happiness multiply because I am healthy enough to share a part to help people and society.”

For Tuong Vi - a first-year student majoring in Rehabilitation Engineering, this is the first time she has donated blood. According to her, the voluntary blood donation festival is organized by the school in a systematic manner, spreading humanistic values ​​and connecting love with many lecturers, students and foreigners who have registered and participated.

“Each small act of ‘giving a drop of loving blood’ from each participant in the blood donation festival has a positive spiritual value when it adds hope and life to those who are truly in need of help with timely blood supply,” Tuong Vi shared and said that she is always ready for the voluntary blood donation festivals that the school will organize in the near future.

In addition to students, the first voluntary blood donation day in 2025 of Dong A University also received strong support from lecturers and staff of the school, thereby multiplying compassion and inspiring the next generations of students.

Participating in the 4th blood donation with students, Dr. Phan Hoang My Thuong - Head of the Korean Language and Culture Department, Dong A University still feels the warmth of sharing and responsibility. "In addition to other community activities, students of Dong A University, including many students of the Korean Language Department, share with the community by donating blood and donating many times during the course", said Dr. Phan Hoang My Thuong.

It is known that the 42nd Voluntary Blood Donation Festival was organized by the Dong A University Youth Union in collaboration with Da Nang Hospital, collecting 354 units of blood. Previously, through 4 days of blood donation festival held at Dong A University in 2024, the total amount of blood collected was 1,525 units.

“With 42 voluntary blood donation days in recent years, Dong A University students have shared 13,811 units of blood with the community. Continuing the journey of “Community Responsibility” of Dong A University students, in 2025, it is expected to organize 2-3 voluntary blood donation days at the school,” said Le Dinh Luong, Deputy Secretary of Dong A University Youth Union.

It is known that in 2024, the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Dong A University was honored to receive a certificate of merit from the Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City for its outstanding achievements in propaganda and mobilization of voluntary blood donation in 2023. In addition, Dong A University was also honored by the Da Nang City Youth Union for its voluntary blood donation activities for 5 consecutive years.
