How does the supercomputer predict round 9 of the Premier League?

Opta's supercomputer has made quite a few surprising predictions for round 9 of the Premier League this weekend.

Accordingly, Chelsea is the team with the highest winning rate among the giants in round 9 of the Premier League. Specifically, the supercomputer predicts that Chelsea has a 71.8% chance of winning the match against Sunderland.

This is quite a surprising prediction, as Sunderland is also in good form, currently ranked 7th in the Premier League this season.

Arsenal is the team predicted to have the second highest chance of winning with a rate of up to 62.7% in the confrontation with Crystal Palace. Other big teams such as Man City, Liverpool are also predicted to have a high chance of winning.

Liverpool have a 54% chance of winning when they meet Brentford away. Man City are predicted by the supercomputer to have a 42.7% chance of winning (the lowest among the big teams) in the match against Aston Villa.

But this winning rate is still overwhelming compared to the supercomputer's prediction for Aston Villa of 31.9%.

In the encounter between Man United and Brighton, the supercomputer predicted the "red devils"'s chance of winning at 37.7%, just slightly higher than Brighton's 35.9%. Man United just caused a surprise when they beat Liverpool in the previous round. But with the supercomputer's prediction in this round, the chance of Man United beating Brighton is not high.
