The ASEAN Cyber Shield (ACS) 2023 is a hacking competition aimed at discovering and nurturing cybersecurity talent in ASEAN, through international cooperation between Korea and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).
Surpassing 37 teams from 10 countries in the ASEAN region, the student team of the University of Information Technology (Ho Chi Minh City National University) won first prize in the General category with a prize of 20,000 USD.
The UIT.purf3ct team consists of 4 members studying the Information Security Talent Program, class 2020, Faculty of Computer Networks and Communications, including: Nguyen Dang Nguyen, Phan Vinh Khang, To Dinh Nguyen and Le Khac Trung Nam.
This year's competition was held in Jakarta, Indonesia, for citizens and students in 10 ASEAN countries, with a total prize of 77,000 USD.
The ASEAN Cyber Shield (ACS) 2023 competition attracted 37 teams from ASEAN countries (no more than 4 teams from each country).
The competition is divided into 2 groups, in which the General group does not necessarily include students and the Student group includes students studying at universities in ASEAN.
The competition takes place over 4 days with 2 phases, including a preliminary round in the form of Jeopardy (from November 21 to 22), then each group takes the 5 teams with the highest scores to advance to the final round focusing on Attack - Defense (November 23 and 24).
In the Student category, the student team of Hanoi University of Science and Technology also won first prize.
