On May 9, a leader of the Departmentof Education and Training of Dak Lak province confirmed that he had directed the professional department to go to Cao Ba Quat High School, Buon Ma Thuot city to check on the request of some 12th grade students to reserve their study results.

According to initial information, after the mid-term exam results of the second semester were released, some 12th grade students discussed with school leaders and "voluntarily" reserved their study results.

However, HGB (grade 12) asked her parents for permission to return to school and complete the upcoming graduation exam. B.'s mother contacted the homeroom teacher to ask for her child to return to school, but received the response that "No, ma'am, the principal has approved it."

The worried parents begged the homeroom teacher, but only received a message saying, "Please return your diploma at the school gate at 9:35."

It is known that HGB's midterm exam results had a score of 4.8 in math and above 5 in the remaining subjects.

Ms. Huynh Thi Kim Hue, Principal of Cao Ba Quat High School, said that some students with poor academic results wanted to drop out of school. The school encouraged them to continue studying, but they insisted on dropping out and submitted applications to reserve their results for next year.

Ms. Hue also said that the school has finalized the list of students taking the high school graduation exam, but still submitted a request for opinions from the Department of Education and Training so that these students can take the graduation exam. Although the list was finalized on April 28, because students have submitted applications, they are instructed to return to school on May 12.

A leader of the Dak Lak Department of Education and Training said that initially, the school leaders confirmed that there was no incentive for weak students to drop out of school to increase the graduation rate as reported and the Department is clarifying the matter.
