Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology Nguyen Hoai Trung said in his opening speech that intellectual property not only helps protect specific tourism products and services, geographical indications, and brands with Binh Thuan identity, but is also a driving force for promoting research and technology application, creating unique, high-quality green tourism products to meet the increasingly diverse needs of tourists.


Speaking at the workshop, Mr. Nguyen Minh, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, emphasized 3 key contents that need to be promoted for innovation and sustainable development of Binh Thuan's green tourism ecosystem. That is, intellectual property is the foundation for developing an innovative ecosystem in tourism; helping to form new products and new models such as community tourism, craft village tourism, eco-tourism associated with culture, OCOP products. Exploiting intellectual property such as certification marks, geographical indications, industrial designs, business secrets will form green value chains, in which businesses, communities, and tourists benefit together, developing sustainably. The application of intellectual property associated with digital transformation, modern marketing, and local brand positioning strategies will help Binh Thuan become a prominent destination in terms of landscape, demonstrating creativity, unique culture, and a profound tourism brand.



At the workshop, experts presented papers, analyzed and clarified the topic of intellectual property promoting the development of green tourism ecosystem in Binh Thuan . Specifically, MSc. Tran Giang Khue, Head of Office, Southern Office introduced policies and regulations on intellectual property in the tourism sector; the important role of intellectual property in protecting tourism products, promoting innovation and sustainable development of the green tourism innovation startup ecosystem in Binh Thuan. National digital transformation expert MSc. Pham Van Quan conveyed digital transformation in the tourism industry, applying new technology to improve tourist experience, and effectively managing resources.
Meanwhile, Dr. Pham Thi Hong Phuong, Senior Advisor of the Center for Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Technology Transfer, Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry, delved into and introduced solutions and strategies for sustainable development of the green tourism ecosystem; analyzed how tourism businesses apply intellectual property to develop new products... With 2 topics: The role of intellectual property in maintaining and promoting local tourism cultural values, solutions to raise awareness of intellectual property in the tourism community; Green tourism models and the issue of green tourism development in Binh Thuan were also introduced by guest speakers.
Within this framework, delegates and businesses exchanged and discussed the exploitation of intellectual property, promoted innovation and sustainable development of Binh Thuan green tourism ecosystem, creating a breakthrough for the "smokeless industry" in the direction of expanding space and merging provinces and cities in the near future. Representatives of the Department of Science & Technology and experts answered questions of concern to delegates.
