Summary of local military and defense work in the first 6 months of 2025

In recent times, the Party Committee, the Provincial Military Command and Party committees and commanders at all levels have done a good job of advising the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Committee, local Party committees and authorities to lead, direct and command the local armed forces to successfully complete their tasks. The capacity to lead, direct and organize the implementation of national defense and security tasks at all levels has been significantly improved, contributing to maintaining political stability and creating favorable conditions for local socio-economic development.

In addition, the armed forces proactively grasp the situation, advise the Party committees and authorities to promptly handle situations in localities and bases, especially key areas; use all resources, forces, and means in natural disaster prevention and control, search and rescue. The province's defense and security diplomacy with the two border provinces of Kandal and Takeo (Cambodia) is well maintained, information exchange and coordination are carried out regularly.

Speaking at the conference, comrade Ho Van Mung requested the Party Committee and the Provincial Military Command to continue to do a better job in advising the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee to lead and direct the successful implementation of local military and defense work. Regularly coordinate closely with the forces to grasp the situation, especially the situation when dissolving and merging, thereby promptly advising on effective solutions to problems. Focus on leading the successful completion of the task of dissolving and merging, organizing a tight handover, not allowing loss or degradation of facilities, barracks, especially weapons and equipment; organize appropriate forces to protect unused barracks after dissolving and merging in accordance with regulations. The newly established unit quickly stabilizes its organization and staffing, and goes into operation immediately.

Maintain strict combat readiness, search and rescue, and prepare forces and mobile vehicles to handle situations in the area. Coordinate and advise on the implementation of training,education , and updating of national defense and security knowledge for the subjects. Continue to take care of building a strong local armed force in all aspects; improve the quality and effectiveness of the militia and self-defense forces, reserve forces, etc.
