At the regular press conference on the socio -economic situation of Ho Chi Minh City on the afternoon of July 24, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Hoi, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports, answered questions about the arrest of designer Nguyen Cong Tri for his involvement in a drug trafficking and illegal drug use ring.
Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Hoi affirmed that celebrities and artists are all citizens. When they violate the law, they will certainly be handled according to regulations. According to the Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Ho Chi Minh City, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has issued a code of conduct for people working in the arts. "This code of conduct is intended to guide, encourage and advise artists to behave in a cultured and standard manner. When they violate the law, everyone will be handled according to regulations like a citizen," said the Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Ho Chi Minh City.
