Exciting “Fukuroi Day in Hue”

“Fukuroi Day in Hue” with many exhibition activities, cultural experiences, film screenings... was organized by the Vietnam - Japan Friendship Association of Thua Thien Hue province in coordination with the Fukuroi - Vietnam Friendship Association, opening on the morning of November 4 at the Ho Chi Minh Museum of the province (7 Le Loi, Hue City).

This activity is part of a series of events celebrating the 50th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam - Japan diplomatic relations (1973-2023) taking place in Thua Thien Hue.

The festival opened with a painting and photo exhibition with hundreds of works introducing the culture, people, cuisine , and famous landscapes of Japan and Vietnam. Along with that were activities to experience traditional Japanese costumes, calligraphy, tea drinking, origami crane folding, etc. In addition, the organizers also screened the documentary “Traces of the Eastern Journey to the Land of the Rising Sun”. The festival attracted hundreds of people and tourists to participate.

The festival program also includes incense offering at Phan Boi Chau Memorial House and a Japanese speaking contest at the University of Foreign Languages, Hue University.

Mr. Tran Cong Phu, Director of the Provincial Department of Foreign Affairs, said that for Thua Thien Hue province, Japan has always been a partner and a close friend. The cooperative relationship between Thua Thien Hue province and Japan in general and Thua Thien Hue and Japanese localities in particular has developed strongly over the years and has become increasingly close and extensive in many fields such as economy, culture, education - training, agriculture, environment, etc.

In addition, Thua Thien Hue province has established many effective cooperative relationships with many localities of Japan such as Kyoto Prefecture, Gifu Province, Nara Province, Yokohama City and achieved many good results in many fields such as tourism development, cultural exchange, people's diplomacy... Japan is also one of the donors with the largest official development assistance (ODA) capital for Thua Thien Hue province, many units, enterprises, and investors from Japan are increasingly interested in, participating in investment, implementing many projects and business activities in the province.

Therefore, the event “Fukuroi Day in Hue” will create opportunities for the people of Thua Thien Hue province and Fukuroi city in particular and Vietnam and Japan in general to increase mutual understanding, thereby promoting the increasingly strong cooperative relationship between the locality and Japan.
