According to the new general education program, experiential activities at primary level and career guidance activities at secondary and high school levels are compulsory educational content from grades 1 to 12. These activities are carried out in parallel with teaching and learning activities in schools. These activities take place in a variety of forms, helping students practice life skills, promote creativity in learning and daily activities. Along with innovation in teaching and learning methods, more and more schools regularly organize creative, practical and meaningful experiential activities, helping students "learn while playing, play while learning". Students at all levels participate in a variety of experiential activities such as: Visiting and picnicking at places of historical, cultural and educational value; life skills education; practical experiential activities, social activities, community service; Education of self-defense skills, survival skills, soft skills, etc. Through practical activities and specific tasks, students develop their role as subject, positive, proactive, self-aware and creative. They participate in all stages of the activity process from design, preparation, implementation and evaluation of results.
For preschools, many schools have innovated in educational methods and goals, enhancing educational activities through experiential forms. Not only limited to the school campus, many schools have organized for children to experience at some historical locations and sites. Thereby helping children acquire knowledge, skills and form attitudes towards things, phenomena and people around them. In particular, with the theme "Homeland - Country", many preschools in rural areas have helped children freely explore, discover and experience in their hometown fields, visit village roads, alleys...; learn about the professions of soldiers through games and outdoor activities; organize singing and dancing performances, visit martyrs' cemeteries, historical museums to celebrate the founding day of the Vietnam People's Army on December 22. These activities not only help children acquire knowledge and practice skills but also form positive feelings and attitudes towards the community and national history. Through this, children can express their feelings and gratitude to the heroic martyrs and try to study well, listen to their grandparents, parents, teachers, etc.
Implementing the direction of the Department of Education and Training on enhancing experiential activities that combine learning with practice, schools from kindergarten to high school have been actively implementing many learning topics in the form of creative experiential activities. This is considered the key to implementing learning by doing, learning through doing, learning to solve practical problems in life right in the classroom and at school. This teaching method also contributes to developing practical capacity, personality and promoting the creative potential of each student, contributing to strongly promoting the movement of innovative teaching methods, improving the quality of comprehensive education.
