In fact, the Phan Chau Trinh route is deteriorating, the road surface is damaged, there are many potholes, sidewalks are collapsed, causing unsafety for people and vehicles. In particular, due to the effects of prolonged rain, the road surface has many large puddles. Notably, at the intersection of Phan Chau Trinh - Hoang Dieu to Nguyen Hien Dinh Tuong Theater, the road surface is quite damaged.
According to Mr. Nguyen Van Phuong, who lives on Phan Chau Trinh Street, a traffic accident recently occurred on this section when a woman riding a motorbike accidentally fell into a pothole. People hope that the city authorities will pay attention and soon renovate, upgrade and repair the road so that everyone can travel more conveniently and safely.
Ms. Le Thi Cuc, Hai Chau Ward, said that up to now, this route has not been renovated, it is dusty when it is sunny, flooded when it rains, affecting traffic and people's daily life. Meanwhile, Mr. Nguyen Hai, owner of a clothing store on Phan Chau Trinh Street, suggested that if the project is implemented, the authorities should avoid the upcoming Tet holiday because this is the peak trading time for people.
The project to improve the drainage system and lay underground information cables and lighting on four inner-city roads Phan Chau Trinh, Le Loi, Hoang Dieu and Ong Ich Khiem was started on March 25, 2025. The project aims to contribute to increasing urban aesthetics, ensuring drainage capacity, meeting the requirements of tourism and economic development, improving the quality of traffic infrastructure use in the central area of Da Nang, creating a driving force to attract tourists and investors to the city.
The project will renovate the drainage system, bury power lines, information lines, lighting lines, replace and plant additional trees. In addition, the water supply system will be relocated and additional fire hydrants will be installed; curbs will be installed, sidewalks will be repaved with natural granite and reinforced asphalt concrete will be upgraded on 4 routes Phan Chau Trinh, Le Loi, Ong Ich Khiem, Hoang Dieu with a total length of 6.94km. The project has a total investment of more than 280 billion VND, with implementation progress from 2024 to 2026.

In order for the project to be constructed on schedule, safely, with quality, and to minimize the impact on traffic and people's lives, the investor must learn from practical experiences from implemented projects to organize and manage the project to ensure strict compliance with the law.
According to the Management Board of Priority Infrastructure Investment Projects in Da Nang (project investor), this project aims to improve urban aesthetics, ensure drainage capacity, meet the needs of tourism and economic development, as well as improve the quality of traffic infrastructure in the central area of Da Nang. Therefore, the Management Board of Priority Infrastructure Investment Projects in Da Nang has directed contractors to apply the rolling construction method, completing Hoang Dieu Street and Ong Ich Khiem Street first (expected to be completed by the end of December 2025) and then continuing with the remaining two streets, Le Loi and Phan Chau Trinh (expected to be completed in 2026).
Mr. Dang Van Hieu, Director of the Hai Chau Ward Basic Construction Management Board, said that this road has been built for a long time, but now the road surface and sidewalks have deteriorated, causing difficulties for travel. Recently, the ward authorities worked with the project management board and agreed on a number of related contents to soon start construction in the near future.
Deputy Director of the Management Board of Priority Infrastructure Investment Projects in Da Nang Nguyen Duc Nam said that according to the plan, the project is expected to be implemented in early March 2026 and will be completed by December 31, 2026. This is also the time after the Lunar New Year, so it will not affect the peak business period of the people.
