Over the past few weeks, many Pixel 9 Pro XL users have been reporting issues with their touchscreens on Reddit. One of the first to report the issue was Lean_account, followed by Mx772 and most recently dcdttu. They all described frustrating experiences where the Pixel 9 Pro XL doesn’t respond properly to touches on the corners of the screen.

One notable issue is the inconsistent way the touchscreen responds. Sometimes, a touch in the corner of the screen is registered, but only after multiple attempts. Sometimes, the screen recognizes a finger moving past the corner, but ignores individual touches. And other times, the screen doesn’t respond at all. This is especially frustrating since the corners are often where apps place important buttons or ads that need to be closed.

The issue appears to be software-related, as some users have reported temporary fixes by resetting their devices. However, this is clearly not a permanent solution.

We've reached out to Google to see if the company is aware of these reports and if there's any official guidance on how to address the issue. We'll update this post when we hear back from Google.
