Ho Chi Minh City National University apologizes for late test delivery of competency assessment exam

This morning (April 2), Ho Chi Minh City National University officially informed about the incident of late test delivery, affecting the test taking time of candidates taking the first round of the Ho Chi Minh City National University's recent competency assessment exam at An Giang University.

The examination council of the Ho Chi Minh City National University's capacity assessment exam held an extraordinary meeting.

Previously, information was posted by candidates on social networks after the first round of the exam took place regarding this incident. The candidate wrote: "I took the competency assessment exam at An Giang University, room P.002. The supervisor delayed our test time by nearly 20 minutes but did not make up the time. Although I said before that it was the supervisor's fault so he had to make up the time for us. The supervisor said he would make up the minutes but at exactly 11 o'clock we still had to submit our test. Meanwhile, in those 20 minutes I could have done 5 more questions or more, not to mention the time pressure made it impossible for me and my friends to think carefully and had to do a lot of thinking...".

Based on the above reflection, the Examination Council of the Ho Chi Minh City National University's Competency Assessment Test said that it had handled the problem of late test delivery at test cluster 50. Specifically, on the morning of April 1, the Examination Council of the 1st round of the Competency Assessment Test held an extraordinary meeting to resolve the complaints of candidates at test cluster 50 of An Ging University, test site 111, test room P002 (ND502).

According to a report from examination cluster 50, an incident occurred in examination room P002 (ND502), examination site 111. Candidates reported that the invigilators were slow in distributing the exam papers, affecting the test-taking time. After reviewing the incident, examination cluster 50 requested the invigilators and supervisors to provide detailed explanations.

The cause was determined to be an error in the process of distributing the exam papers, resulting in two candidates sitting close to each other receiving the same exam code. When the incident was discovered, the invigilator collected some exam papers for inspection before continuing to distribute the papers to the remaining candidates. This led to a delay in the exam paper distribution process.

"Error arising from carelessness in the performance of duties"

The consequence of the delay is that the candidate loses part of the test time, negatively affecting the candidate's test results. This is an error arising from the carelessness in the performance of the tasks of the individuals involved.

Since then, the Examination Council has taken measures to handle the situation, assigning the leaders of examination cluster 50 to contact the affected candidates, and the Examination Council representative to directly apologize and commit to creating favorable conditions for candidates to participate in the second round of exams.

The leaders of examination cluster 50 are responsible for verifying the individuals involved, applying appropriate disciplinary measures and reporting back to the Examination Council. The Examination Council will review and improve the organization of the examination to prevent similar incidents in future examinations.

"The Ho Chi Minh City National University Competency Assessment Council is committed to maintaining transparency, fairness and quality in all exams," the announcement of Ho Chi Minh City National University clearly stated.

Previously, on the morning of March 30, 126,338 candidates took the first round of the competency assessment exam organized by Ho Chi Minh City National University in 25 localities across the country. The number of candidates taking the exam this year continued to increase, nearly 30% higher than the same period last year.
