Using electric vehicles has many benefits

According to the Automobile Propre news site, the positive impact of using electric cars on public health is reflected in many aspects.

Using electric vehicles can significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions and fine dust, thereby helping to reduce the incidence of respiratory and cardiovascular diseases. According to research, the reason why electric vehicles generate less dust than internal combustion engine vehicles is because this clean vehicle has almost no emissions from the fuel combustion process and the amount of dust from the braking system is also very small.

In addition, electric vehicles do not depend on petroleum - a mineral that causes heavy pollution during the mining and production process - so they also contribute to minimizing negative impacts on the environment. Even in countries where electricity is mainly produced from coal, switching to electric vehicles still brings certain effects in protecting the environment and people's health. The amount of CO2 emitted from electric vehicles is about 22% lower than that of diesel vehicles and 28% lower than that of gasoline vehicles in the same segment.

Gasoline-powered vehicles are causing significant environmental damage.

Another advantage of electric vehicles is that they are virtually silent when traveling at low speeds. Noise pollution has become a serious health problem in urban areas, disrupting sleep, increasing stress and increasing the risk of cardiovascular disease.

In addition, for urban electric vehicles with short travel distances after each battery charge, regularly stopping to charge the vehicle also encourages drivers to exercise more, contributing to reducing the harmful effects of sitting and driving for long periods of time.

In Vietnam, recently, the Hanoi People's Council passed a Resolution on Regulations for implementing low emission zones in the city.

In low emission zones, vehicles that do not emit exhaust fumes, environmentally friendly vehicles, vehicles that use clean energy, green energy, environmentally friendly vehicles, priority vehicles... are allowed to circulate.

Hanoi will ban heavy diesel trucks from circulating in low emission zones; restrict or ban motorbikes that do not meet level 2 standards and cars that do not meet level 4 emission standards from circulating here according to time frames or areas. At the same time, it is proposed to issue fees and charges for road motor vehicles with emissions circulating in low emission zones.

In addition, the city will also propose policies to support people living and working in low-emission areas and organizations and businesses to convert fossil fuel-powered vehicles to clean, zero-emission energy.
