This product not only solves the problem of revenue management but also becomes a reliable bridge between sellers and customers.

Race of banks, solution companies

Since the beginning of 2025, the money transfer speaker market in Vietnam has entered a boom period with the participation of banks, e-wallets and technology startups. Big players such as MB Bank and Techcombank have launched their own speaker versions, while Momo and VnPay have taken advantage of the existing payment ecosystem to attract users.

According to Mr. Tran Minh Duc, fintech expert at TechWire Asia: "This competition pushes suppliers to constantly improve. From compact design, 48-hour battery life to integrated AI fraud detection, each new version brings outstanding value."

The price segment is equally diverse. While VnPay Soundbox or Mobifone's God of Wealth Loa target budget customers with prices under 600,000 VND, high-end products such as Tingee Box 3S or Tingbox 2025 focus on premium experiences: large display screens, 5G connectivity, or regional voice options. The service subscription model is also growing strongly, suitable for users who want to experience before deciding to buy outright.

Regarding transaction costs, speakers from payment solution companies such as VNPay or Momo charge fees for each transaction. In addition to selling products for 350,000 VND, VNPay also applies a fee of 0.88% for each transaction. Momo Soundbox is sold for 600,000 VND, does not charge transaction fees but charges 0.5% for each withdrawal from the platform.

Banks usually do not charge transaction fees, if users do not buy the device outright, they can rent it for an annual fee. Banks mainly prioritize cash flow directly into bank accounts, so they charge almost no fees or very little. Sacombank also reduces the price of the device by 50% if customers reach a certain sales volume. Vietcombank refunds 590 thousand VND to customers who link their accounts to Loa Than Tai.

Mobifone network provides the device for 640,000 VND with a monthly fee of 19,000 VND from the second year onwards. Some developers of sales management applications, through software packages such as Sapo QR02, also do not charge a fee. These companies mainly target sales management systems, control branch sales and develop integrated AI assistants to support businesses.

A representative of a payment solution provider shared: "We are researching the integration of an additional exchange rate fluctuation warning feature for small import-export stores. In the future, this device can become a multi-purpose AI assistant, supporting everything from warehouse management to customer care."

Changing the way stores operate

The transfer notification speaker is considered a smart "assistant". This device automatically plays a voice notification every time money is received, helping the store owner confirm the transaction immediately without having to check the phone or books.

"Before, I had to constantly open the banking app to check if customers had transferred money, especially during busy hours. Now I just need to listen to the loudspeaker announcement to feel secure," said Nguyen Thi Ha, a coffee shop owner in Hanoi.

Not only in big cities with bustling business, even small shops in the provinces have had very positive changes thanks to the transfer speaker. Previously, receiving payment via transfer was somewhat limited, although still printing QR and leaving account numbers, business owners still prefer to receive cash.

Mr. Quang Tho, 53 years old, grocery store owner in Quang Ngai said: “When customers transfer money through their accounts, I have to check. Sometimes I am in a hurry and only look at the customer's successful transfer screen. Later, I encountered several cases of fake transfer screens, so I have to check carefully. It's very annoying. Since buying the speaker, I have been more comfortable accepting payments.”

At a street food stall in District 3 (HCMC), the owner of a vermicelli and bean curd restaurant - Mr. Hai (52 years old) - recounted his digital transformation journey: "Previously, I had to ask my daughter to check the money transfer for me. Since using 9Pay's speaker, every time a customer scans the code, they can clearly hear 'Received 50,000 VND from Momo wallet'. Customers also trust it more because it is transparent."

Not only traditional stores, money transfer speakers have also crept into new business models. Ms. Linh Chi (owner of an online bakery) said: "I connect the speakers to order management software. Every time a customer transfers a deposit, the system automatically updates the order and reports it during the livestream so that the customer can confirm it immediately, minimizing errors."

In addition to Vietnamese notifications, many premium versions also support multiple languages and integrate local voices (North - South). Another impressive feature is the ability to connect across multiple platforms from QR Codes of banks, e-wallets such as Momo, VnPay to sales management software such as Sapo or Tingee.

"This device is like a miniature control center. I can delegate authority to employees to track sales without fear of revealing personal account information," said Mr. Le Van Tu, owner of a fashion store chain.

According to experts, this compact device meets the needs of a group of users, is easy to use, and is suitable in the context of digital transformation and cashless payments going deep into life. This also shows that digital transformation does not necessarily mean large investment solutions and changes in operating models.

According to Mr. Phan Ba Manh, a developer of sales management applications and a supplier of money notification speakers for several banks, the device helps solve many problems in online money transfers, especially for small traders.

"Vietnam has millions of small traders. The small business model makes being scammed with fake money transfers a concern for them, especially the elderly or those who do not have much knowledge of technology. The device notifies when receiving money like an assistant to help solve that concern," said Mr. Manh.

Worry about security

Besides the benefits of convenience and safety, the announcement speaker also has limitations such as average speaker quality, or low durability, unstable connection, and delayed announcements. Some applications set up long content, when many people transfer money at the same time, it can make the announcement take a long time.

Recently, some restaurant owners in Ho Chi Minh City have experienced many awkward situations when they trusted the transfer announcement loudspeaker. One restaurant owner shared: “I delivered food without checking the actual amount. The customer ordered many dishes, totaling 200,000 - 300,000 VND, but only transferred 200 or 300 VND. The loudspeaker only announced '200' or '300', making me mistakenly think that I had received the full amount.” After several times of being short of money, this person learned his lesson and now only delivers food after confirming the correct transfer amount.

A manager of a milk tea shop in Thu Duc City also said that he had encountered a similar situation. Specifically, a customer asked to borrow 230,000 VND in cash but only transferred 230 VND, but because it was crowded, no one paid attention. Only at the end of the day when checking the revenue did they discover that the money was missing.

"I've heard of cases where scammers took advantage of small transfers to trick shop owners. Luckily, my Tingee speaker has a display screen so I can check it right away," said Ms. Mai Anh (HCMC).

In fact, the minimum transfer amount varies from bank to bank, but most of them set the minimum limit at 1,000 or 2,000 VND. However, many e-wallets allow transfers from 100 VND, which creates a loophole for some customers to take advantage of.

Experts "give tips" on product selection criteria

Choosing the right device in a maze of products is not easy. Mr. Nguyen Hoang Long, Director of a payment solution company, emphasized: "Stability is a vital factor. No matter how cheap a speaker is, it becomes useless if it often delays notifications or loses Internet connection."

Regarding security, Ms. Le Thi Thanh Huong (cybersecurity expert) recommends: "Users should choose a device that ensures money goes directly to their bank account, without going through an intermediary. In addition, a screen displaying the amount of money is a necessary feature to avoid the risk of mishearing."

Cost is also a concern. "If you do business long-term, buying outright will be more economical than subscribing. But for new startups, the service package of 50,000 - 100,000 VND/month helps reduce initial capital pressure," Mr. Long analyzed.
