Recreating heroic memories and the "Three Virtues" spirit of Vietnamese women

NDO - The special art and political program "Forever the tradition of Ba Dam Dang women" took place at both ends of the Vietnam-Soviet Friendship Labor Cultural Palace and the Ba Dam Dang Women Monument in Dan Phuong district of Hanoi on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the launching of the Ba Dam Dang women's movement. A large audience of Hanoi Radio and Television nationwide relived the arduous and heroic years of the resistance war against the US to save the country.

The program was organized by the Hanoi Women's Union in coordination with Hanoi Radio and Television, and was broadcast live on H1, FM96, HaNoi On application and the Station's digital platforms. The Three Virtuous Women's Movement originated in Dan Phuong, Hanoi in 1965 and then spread to many regions and areas nationwide, contributing greatly to the construction of a large rear base to support the large frontline in the war against the invading American imperialists.

With three main parts: “Born in hardship”, “Strong influence”, “Continuing the tradition of Ba dam dang”, the program vividly recreated the context of the birth of the “Ba dam dang” movement, creating a widespread revolutionary movement initiated by women, originating in Dan Phuong exactly 60 years ago during the resistance war against the US to save the country. The program highlighted the will, strength and great role of Vietnamese women in the history of the nation; at the same time, it affirmed the patriotism, resilience and silent sacrifice of Vietnamese mothers and sisters through the ages. This is not only a tribute to the past, but also a message reminding every citizen today of the responsibility to preserve and continue that glorious tradition.

The program “Forever the tradition of women with three responsibilities” was elaborately staged, harmoniously combining music , documentary images and profound narration, reviving the heroic memories of a time of war, where women shouldered great responsibilities but were still gentle and responsible in everyday life. The performances in the program vividly recreated the history of formation and widespread participation in response to the examples and great achievements in labor, production and fighting of Vietnamese women during that period.

The program opened with the song and dance performance “Duong cay dam dang” (composed by An Chung) performed by singer Hong Duyen and the Tre Dance Group, gently leading the audience back to the hard-working days of women in the fields during the war. Next was the performance “Nhung co gai quan ho” (composed by Pho Duc Phuong), performed by Duong Hoang Yen and the dance group, bringing the audience into the space of the homeland’s music, along with the pride of the girls of Bac Ninh .

The stage of the program became more bustling with the medley "Nam ton song - Hai chi em" (composed by Nguyen Van Ty - Hoang Van) sung by Do To Hoa. Next was the heroic song "Chao song ma anh hung" (composed by Xuan Giao) performed by Meritorious Artist Dang Duong and the dance troupe, recreating the spirit of uprising of Vietnamese women amidst the rain of bombs and bullets. Deep and touching were the melodies "Nguoi con gai song La" (composer Doan Nho) sung by singer Anh Tho and "Quang Binh que ta oi" (composer Hoang Van) performed by People's Artist Pham Phuong Thao, as a reminder of the silent sacrifices in the rear. The most memorable moment of the program was the performance of singer My Linh with the song “Mother’s Legend” (by musician Trinh Cong Son) praising the image of Vietnamese mothers who worked hard and sacrificed their lives during the war, and the song “Pako’s Daughter” (composed by Huy Thuc) performed by People’s Artist Thanh Lam praising resilient ethnic women during the war.

In addition, People's Artist Thanh Hoa, Meritorious Artist Lan Anh, Meritorious Artist Vu Thang Loi also performed emotionally songs that have been with us through the years such as: "Spring in the rice and flower villages" (Ngoc Khue), "The dark road goes long along the country" (Vu Trong Hoi), "Hanoi song" (Vu Thanh), bringing images of a peaceful Vietnam in a peaceful working life. The medley "Proud of the Capital's Women - Song of Vietnamese Women" (composed by Tran Quang Duy - Nguyen Van Ty), performed by singers Do To Hoa and Ngoc Khue, closed the program with a message honoring the steadfast sacrifice and indomitable spirit of Vietnamese women in the flow of national history.

In addition to the artistic performances, the audience also listened to the emotional sharing of living witnesses - typical women who have made great contributions to the "Three Virtues" movement across the country. They were Ms. Le Thi Quynh, former President of the Women's Union of Trung Chau Commune (Dan Phuong District); Ms. Nguyen Thi Sang, who was the Captain of the "Three Virtues" train when she was only 21 years old; and Colonel, Associate Professor, Doctor, People's Physician Nguyen Kim Nu Hieu - former Deputy Director of the 108 Central Military Hospital. Their real-life, sincere and simple stories deeply portrayed a difficult but heroic period, spreading the message of responsibility, dedication and deep patriotism of Vietnamese women.

One of the highlights of the program is the special reports produced by Hanoi Radio and Television, such as: "The birth of the Ba Dam Dang movement", "The legends of Dong Loc", "The girls of Ngu Thuy", "Hero Ho Kan Lich", "The girls of Truong Son"... Through each documentary film and authentic stories and reports, the audience was deeply moved and understood more clearly about the birth, spread and enduring vitality of the "Ba Dam Dang" movement - a shining symbol of the role of Vietnamese women in the war against America to save the country.
