[Video] Hanoi: Warning of the risk of an outbreak in the summer

According to the Hanoi Center for Disease Control (CDC), during the week from May 23 to 30, the number of cases of infectious diseases such as measles, hand, foot and mouth disease, dengue fever and Covid-19 all tended to increase, scattered in most districts.

The city recorded 9 cases of dengue fever (nearly double that of last week), 175 cases of measles, 163 cases of hand, foot and mouth disease and 156 cases of Covid-19.

Notably, since the beginning of the year, there have been 3,009 measles cases (a sharp increase compared to the same period last year), 2,624 hand, foot and mouth disease cases (nearly double), and 388 Covid-19 cases. Two cases of adult tetanus have also just been recorded, bringing the total number of tetanus cases this year to 19.

The Hanoi CDC believes that the risk of an outbreak in the summer is real, especially among children who have not been fully vaccinated. The health sector is strengthening surveillance of old outbreaks, promoting vaccination, and quarantine at Noi Bai airport.
