Restarting Dung Quat Biofuel Plant from 2026

QNgTV- Dung Quat Biofuel Factory (Quang Ngai) is expected to officially restart ethanol production for E10 biofuel blending in November this year.

Faced with the urgent need for domestic ethanol supply, to serve the roadmap to put E10 biofuel into mass use nationwide, Binh Son Refining and Petrochemical Joint Stock Company ( BSR ) will carry out maintenance and repairs to restart Dung Quat Biofuel Plant from January 1, 2026.

Currently, the factory's domestic ethanol production capacity only meets about 30-40% of demand; the rest must rely on imports, making input costs and the sustainability of the fuel supply chain affected by world price fluctuations and logistics risks.

The resumption of operation of Dung Quat Biofuel Plant will contribute to ensuring raw material sources for blending E10 biofuel, reducing imports and promoting clean energy development in Vietnam.
