(NLDO)- On January 29 (the first day of the Lunar New Year), there were 56 traffic accidents nationwide, killing 17 people and injuring 45 people.


On January 29, news from the Traffic Police Department (Traffic Police, Ministry of Public Security ) said that on January 29 (the first day of the Lunar New Year), there were 56 traffic accidents nationwide, killing 17 people and injuring 45 people. Compared to the first day of the Lunar New Year 2024, there were 18 fewer accidents, 23 fewer deaths, and 28 fewer injuries.

During the day, traffic police nationwide inspected, detected and handled 3,980 violations; temporarily detained 34 cars, 1,335 motorbikes, 20 other vehicles; revoked 115 driving licenses of all kinds, deducted driving license points from 493 cases. Of which, 967 cases were handled for alcohol concentration violations; 963 speed violations; 4 cases for overloading; 18 cases for exceeding the prescribed number of people; and 10 cases for drug violations.

Traffic order and safety across the country during the day was ensured, traffic flow was smooth. Traffic police deployed forces to ensure traffic order and safety and patrolled on key routes and areas.
