Cuu Long University cooperates in training human resources for Champasak province

From May 20 to 22, a delegation from the Departmentof Education and Sports of Champasak province (Laos) led by Director Souvannasane Bouathong visited and worked at Cuu Long University on human resource training for Champasak province.

Receiving the delegation, on the side of Cuu Long University, there were Meritorious Teacher, Associate Professor, Dr. Luong Minh Cu - Party Secretary, Rector of Cuu Long University; Dr. Nguyen Thanh Dung, Vice Rector; Dr. Dang Thi Ngoc Lan, Vice Rector; Senior Advisory Board of the Board of Directors; and leaders of a number of affiliated units.

Meritorious Teacher Luong Minh Cu said the school trains 39 undergraduate majors with 85 majors in 4 fields, including: Health Sciences, Social Sciences and Humanities, Engineering - Technology, Economics - Finance.

The school’s strength is in training in health sciences . Since 2015, Cuu Long University has begun to receive and train Laotian international students, with 56 international students graduating from Champasak province alone.

There are currently 52 Laotian students studying at the school (including 01 student from Champasak province). The President of Cuu Long University affirmed that the school is ready to cooperate and support the training of human resources for Laos in general and Champasak province in particular.

At the meeting, delegates discussed issues of mutual interest and potential implementation in the coming time in the fields of education, training and scientific research.

After the discussion, the two sides agreed to sign a memorandum of understanding on cooperation with the following contents: Conducting visits and exchanging experiences of the leaders of both sides; Cuu Long University supporting human resource training for the Department of Education and Sports of Champasak province; Coordinating the organization of conferences, seminars, and sessions to exchange management and training experiences.

In particular, Cuu Long University grants 10 100% scholarships in 2025 to the Department of Education and Sports of Champasak province (undergraduate and graduate levels) in the training majors of the University.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Souvannasane Bouathong expressed his gratitude to the leaders of Cuu Long University for welcoming the delegation, especially for supporting the training of human resources for the province in the past time. He said that when visiting Cuu Long University, he was very impressed with the facilities that have been and are being built, especially the construction works serving the training of health sectors. When returning to the country, he will inform the 12th grade students so that they can refer to the training majors and register to study at Cuu Long University in the near future.
