According to Press TV, new IRGC Commander Mohammad Pakpour declared on June 13 that Iran will take "severe" revenge on Israel after Tel Aviv's preemptive strike on the Islamic Republic.
"Soon, the gates of hell will open for Israel. The crimes Israel committed today (June 13) in violating Iran's national security and territorial integrity will surely be responded to," Major General Mohammad Pakpour wrote in a letter to Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.

"The IRGC will make them suffer huge and devastating consequences. This retaliation is to avenge the blood of commanders, scientists and civilians shed in the Israeli airstrikes," General Pakpour added.
General Pakpour was appointed commander of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps after his predecessor, Major General Hossein Salami, was killed in an Israeli airstrike on June 13.
In addition, Major General Mohammad Bagheri - Chief of the General Staff of the Iranian Army, Brigadier General Amir Ali Hajizadeh - Commander of the Aerospace Division of the IRGC, Major General Gholam-Ali Rashid - Commander of the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Command of Iran, and many nuclear scientists of this country,... were also killed in the recent Israeli attack.

Tehran has not yet retaliated against the Israeli attack but plans to do so soon, Fars news agency quoted a security source as saying. Fars also dismissed Israeli media reports that Tehran had launched more than 100 kamikaze drones at Israel, most of which were said to have been intercepted.
