Exploiting a bamboo raw material area of ​​more than 2,000 hectares, Tan Xuan Agricultural Cooperative 269 Tan Xuan, in Buot village, Tan Xuan commune, Van Ho district, has researched and created many unique products from bamboo, building a sustainable business model, bringing a stable source of income to members.

Traveling more than 35 km from Van Ho district to Tan Xuan commune, welcoming us, Ms. Cao Thi Tam, Director of Tan Xuan 269 Cooperative, warmly invited guests to a cup of fragrant bamboo leaf tea. Ms. Tam shared: Since ancient times, local people have been used to using bamboo leaf water as a refreshing and cooling drink. From that custom, the Cooperative has researched the process of preparing and drying bamboo leaves scientifically , preserving the flavor and nutrients. Bamboo leaf tea is 100% natural, does not use preservatives, and has the effect of cooling and relaxing the mind.

Bamboo leaf tea is the latest product of the cooperative in 2024. Taking advantage of the abundant natural resources in the locality, members have combined traditional methods and modern technology to process products that are highly appreciated by consumers.

Promoting and expanding the product consumption market, in 2025, the cooperative will print labels for bamboo leaf tea products, attach QR codes to trace their origins, display them on e-commerce platforms and participate in promotions at many fairs and major trade promotion events in Hanoi , Ho Chi Minh City and the Northwestern provinces... Since the beginning of the year, the cooperative has supplied over 5,000 products to supermarkets and stores in Moc Chau, Van Ho and Hanoi, earning a profit of over 100 million VND.

Along with bamboo leaf tea, Tan Xuan 269 Agricultural Cooperative focuses on developing dried bamboo shoot products. In 2020, with the support of the Project Promoting Gender Equality through Sustainable Agriculture and Tourism (GREAT), members of the Cooperative were instructed to harvest and process natural bamboo shoots sustainably, ensuring organic standards; investing in factories and machinery systems with a total cost of 1.5 billion VND, with a capacity of 1 ton of dried bamboo shoots/day.

To date, HXT has cooperated with nearly 200 households, expanding the raw material area to more than 1,000 hectares of bamboo shoots. Each year, the Cooperative sells over 11 tons of dried bamboo shoots, bringing in revenue of over 300 million VND. Notably, in 2024, the Cooperative's dried bamboo shoots will continue to maintain the 4-star OCOP quality standard, affirming its quality and reputation in the market.

Not only creating jobs and increasing income for members, the production activities of Tan Xuan 269 Agricultural Cooperative are also associated with protecting forest resources. Currently, the Cooperative only harvests bamboo shoots and leaves within the permitted time, without damaging the mother tree, ensuring natural regeneration. Thanks to that, it maintains a long-term source of raw materials, contributing to protecting the ecological environment.

Ms. Vi Thi Hoach, a member of Tan Xuan 269 Agricultural Cooperative, shared: In 2019, I joined the cooperative and participated in the process of processing dried bamboo shoots and bamboo according to food safety and hygiene standards. Currently, I have an income of over 7 million VND/month.

Sharing about the future orientation of the cooperative, Director of the cooperative Cao Thi Tam added: In addition to bamboo products, the cooperative is researching and producing more natural products, such as: dried ginger, dried wood ear mushrooms... At the same time, searching for and linking with large enterprises and distributors; participating in many domestic trade promotion programs, expanding the market, increasing income for members.

Effectively exploiting local potential, organizing methodical production, focusing on product quality and actively applying technology in production and business, helps Tan Xuan 269 Agricultural Cooperative build a brand chain of clean products from bamboo and bamboo in the market; creating stable income for people and contributing to promoting the image of local clean agricultural products to consumers.
