Increase new investment, expand investment in the United States

The Embassy of Vietnam in the United States welcomes Vietnamese enterprises to attend SelectUSA 2024

SelectUSA is a U.S. Government initiative led by the U.S. Department of Commerce, focused on facilitating a business environment that promotes investment in the United States, thereby boosting American jobs, and increasing awareness of the pivotal role that economic development plays in the U.S. economy. This prestigious event, held annually, brings together companies from around the world, economic development agencies (EDOs), industry experts, and stakeholders to discuss the U.S. investment environment, industry trends, and new investment opportunities. Since its inception, SelectUSA has assisted thousands of clients, including EDOs, domestic companies, and international companies, facilitating more than $270 billion in investment, supporting more than 240,000 jobs across the United States and its territories.

In 2024, the 10th SelectUSA took place from June 23-26, 2024 at National Harbor, Maryland and was the largest conference ever with the participation of over 5,000 delegates from 96 economies around the world and 56 states and territories of the United States. The Vietnamese business delegation with more than 70 members was the 5th largest business delegation participating in SelectUSA 2024.

In 2025, the 11th SelectUSA Investment Summit was held from May 11-14, 2025 at National Harbor, Maryland. The Vietnamese delegation led by Deputy Minister of Finance Cao Anh Tuan and 130 members representing businesses in many industries and fields such as information technology, telecommunications, energy, industrial production, agriculture, environment, interior design, tourism services... sought to further increase new investment activities, expand investment, and commit to creating jobs for the American people.

During the working trip, Deputy Minister Cao Anh Tuan and the delegation will meet and work with a number of US organizations, banks and enterprises: the US International Development Finance Corporation (DFC), the US Export-Import Bank (US Ex-Im Bank), Intel Corporation, Meta Corporation... with the goal of promoting economic - investment - trade cooperation in the spirit of harmonizing interests and mutual benefit.

Previously, Minister of Finance Nguyen Van Thang had a meeting and worked with US Ambassador Marc E. Knapper.

At the meeting, Minister Nguyen Van Thang said that the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between Vietnam and the United States is increasingly developing substantially and effectively.

Minister Nguyen Van Thang said: The Vietnamese delegation attending this conference has the largest number of registrations ever, showing that Vietnamese enterprises are increasingly interested in the US investment environment and wish to increase their presence in this market.

In addition to attending and chairing activities at the SelectUSA Conference, Minister Nguyen Van Thang said that the delegation will work with US authorities and leading associations and enterprises in fields such as semiconductors, high technology, startups, banking, green finance and digital.

Through these activities, the Vietnamese Government wants to convey a message of its determination to promote bilateral economic and trade relations in a fair, mutually beneficial and sustainable manner, in the context of the world witnessing profound changes in global trade policies and environment.

US Ambassador Marc E. Knapper commented: Such great interest and enthusiasm for participation represents an important moment in the bilateral relationship between Vietnam and the United States, as 2025 will mark the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries. This will be an opportunity to seek ways to further deepen the economic and investment relationship between Vietnam and the United States. Over the past time, Vietnam and the United States have witnessed remarkable developments in bilateral relations, especially since the establishment of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in 2023.
