On April 24, in Ho Chi Minh City, the Investment and Trade Promotion Center (ITPC) in collaboration with the Vietnam International Arbitration Center (VIAC) organized the Workshop "Law No. 57/2024/QH15 of the National Assembly and new policies on investment activities".

In her opening speech, Ms. Cao Thi Phi Van, Deputy Director of ITPC, emphasized that Law No. 57/2024/QH15 is an important step forward in removing legal bottlenecks, facilitating investment and business activities, especially in the context that the whole country is resolutely implementing strategic breakthroughs in the spirit of the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress.

Amendments and supplements to the Law focus on key areas such as: Planning, public investment, investment under the public-private partnership (PPP) method and bidding, with the orientation of increasing decentralization and delegation of power to localities, simplifying administrative procedures, and making project implementation processes transparent.

Expanding the special investment mechanism, increasing the proportion of state capital in PPP projects and decentralizing the authority to approve investment policies to localities can lead to risks of overlap, lack of consistency in implementation, and potential risks of disputes if not operated synchronously and transparently.
