Strengthening the handling of the production and trade of counterfeit medicines and health foods

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee directed the Department of Health to carry out the tasks directed by the Ministry of Health in Official Dispatch No. 2352/BYT-QLD dated April 20, 2025; the Department of Industry and Trade directed and advised the Provincial Steering Committee 389 to launch a peak period to combat counterfeit drugs and health protection foods of unknown origin. In particular, focusing on investigating and detecting establishments and subjects producing counterfeit drugs and health protection foods or focal points for gathering and distributing counterfeit drugs and health protection foods of unknown origin. Strengthening the inspection and examination of pharmaceutical business establishments, focusing on checking the origin of drugs and health protection foods sold by business establishments. In case of detecting establishments selling drugs and health protection foods of unknown origin, it is necessary to coordinate with the health sector to verify the origin and strictly handle them according to the provisions of law. Strengthen the monitoring, inspection and supervision of advertising and trading activities of medicines and health protection foods via the internet and social networks; promptly detect violations and coordinate with local information and communication management agencies to strictly handle them in accordance with the provisions of law.

People's Committees of districts, towns and cities direct the strict implementation of Directive No. 17/CT-TTg dated June 19, 2018 of the Prime Minister on strengthening the fight against smuggling, trade fraud, production and trading of counterfeit and poor-quality goods in the group of pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, functional foods, medicinal herbs and traditional medicine according to Official Dispatch No. 41/CD TTg dated April 17, 2025 of the Prime Minister and Official Dispatch No. 2352/BYT-QLD dated April 20, 2025 of the Ministry of Health .

Media agencies in the province have stepped up propaganda and dissemination of Official Dispatch No. 41/CD-TTg dated April 17, 2025 of the Prime Minister on handling cases of production and trade of counterfeit medicines and health protection foods and Official Dispatch No. 2352/BYT-QLD dated April 20, 2025 of the Ministry of Health on strengthening the fight against counterfeit medicines and health protection foods.
