Increase the implementation time of seaport dredging project

On November 6, the Ministry of Transport (MOT) issued a decision to amend and supplement the list based on the fact that many projects have adjusted their implementation time from the 2021-2023 period to the 2021-2025 period. In particular, the projects with adjusted implementation time include: Dredging and product recovery project of Tien River navigation channel (expected to dredge from buoy pair P17 - buoy P18 to buoy P31); Dredging and product recovery project of Tran De navigation channel (expected to dredge from buoy P0 to buoy P16).

In addition, the projects whose implementation time has been adjusted to 2025 include the dredging project combined with product recovery of Cua Viet maritime channel (expected to dredge Cua Viet maritime channel, Quang Tri province); Dredging project combined with product recovery of Cua Hoi - Ben Thuy maritime channel (expected to dredge Cua Hoi maritime channel, Nghe An province).

Specifically, the dredging project combined with the recovery of products of the Tien River navigation channel will only be implemented when the socialization projects on the channel are qualified to continue implementation, ensuring the synchronous implementation of the projects and the clearance of the entire channel.

The new decision also adds a dredging project combined with product recovery of the Dinh An - Hau River maritime channel for ships of 10,000 tons or more, with implementation time in the period 2023-2025.

Regarding the channel standards and estimated dredging volume, after approving the feasibility study report, the Vietnam Maritime Administration will synthesize and report to the Ministry of Transport for consideration and update.

The Ministry of Transport assigned the Vietnam Maritime Administration to complete and liquidate the consulting contracts of the project of dredging and recovering products of the Dinh An - Hau River navigation channel from buoy P0 to buoy P25 and pay the consulting units according to the volume of work completed to date according to regulations.

At the same time, refer to and use the research results of the Project on dredging and product recovery of Dinh An - Hau River maritime channel from buoy P0 to buoy 2 P25 in the process of preparing the feasibility study report and environmental impact assessment report of the Project on dredging and product recovery of Dinh An - Hau River maritime channel for ships of 10,000 tons or more.
