Singapore: A strategic gateway to quality tourism development

Speaking at the Vietnam – Singapore Tourism Cooperation Forum held in Ho Chi Minh City on May 21, Mr. Terrence Voon, Managing Director of Southeast Asia, Singapore Tourism Board said: “Vietnam is one of Singapore’s strategic markets in Southeast Asia. Vietnamese tourists do not only come to Singapore for shopping or entertainment, but also have a need for in-depth experiences, learning about culture and high-end services. We look forward to promoting closer cooperation with Vietnamese partners to build linked tourism products, enhance tourist experiences and expand the two-way market.”

In 2024, Singapore welcomed 16.5 million international visitors.

In 2024, Singapore welcomed 16.5 million visitors, including 393,184 tourists from Vietnam. Tourism revenue reached 29.8 billion SGD. Vietnam continued to be in the group of 15 largest source markets of Singapore, showing strong room for growth in the high-quality tourist segment.

On the other hand, in 2024, Singaporean visitors to Vietnam will reach more than 347,000. In the first 4 months of 2025, Vietnam's tourism industry will continue to welcome more than 110,000 Singaporean visitors, a sharp increase compared to last year.

The Singapore Tourism Board said it will expand promotional campaigns targeting Vietnamese people, strengthen cooperation with airlines and travel agencies, and support general promotion with the Vietnamese tourism industry.

In addition, the Singapore Tourism Board updates official information about Singapore tourism to help visitors access quality, fresh and reliable content about Singapore tourism, new attractions as well as attractive promotions.

The Singapore Tourism Board also signed a memorandum of understanding on strategic cooperation with Vietnam Airlines and Sentosa Development Corporation (SDC) to promote tourism and expand connectivity between Vietnam and Singapore.

Vietnam - An attractive destination for Singaporean and international tourists

Singapore currently offers a 30-day visa exemption for Vietnamese visitors and operates 137 weekly flights from Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Da Nang and Phu Quoc operated by four airlines.
