1. Inauguration of the Provincial Traditional Medicine Hospital

On April 17, 2025, the Provincial People's Committee solemnly held the inauguration ceremony of the Provincial Traditional Medicine Hospital (now renamed Tran Van An Traditional Medicine Hospital) phase 2. The project was deployed from May 25, 2022. After 2.5 years of construction, the project was completed with the following main scale and items: 4-storey main building with full modern medical equipment. The system of bridges, lakes, parking lots and auxiliary items meet the standards; minimum facilities for medical examination and treatment using traditional medicine.

The total investment is 120 billion VND from the provincial budget in the medium-term public investment plan for the period 2021 - 2025. Of which, construction costs are 68.93 billion VND, equipment costs are 29.83 billion VND, and the rest are other costs.

Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Be Muoi assessed: The completion and putting into use of the project has extremely important political significance. With adequate, convenient and modern facilities, it will improve the quality of medical examination and treatment, work, and contribute to the good implementation of the assigned functions and tasks of the health sector.

2 Rach Mieu Bridge 2 Closing

On April 19, 2025, My Thuan Project Management Board (PMU) held the closing ceremony of Rach Mieu 2 bridge connecting Tien Giang and Ben Tre provinces. The entire Rach Mieu 2 Bridge Construction Investment Project connecting Tien Giang and Ben Tre provinces (RM2 Bridge Project) has been completed by 85%, exceeding the overall progress by more than 5% compared to the plan. In particular, the main bridge - Rach Mieu 2 Bridge is exceeding the progress by more than 15%.

With the rapid economic development, Rach Mieu Bridge has become a traffic bottleneck for many years, often experiencing congestion, especially on weekends, especially during holidays and Tet, failing to meet the socio-economic development needs of the provinces in the region. In the exciting atmosphere of the RM2 Bridge closing ceremony, Chairman of Ben Tre Provincial People's Committee Tran Ngoc Tam said: "...The closing ceremony of the Rach Mieu 2 cable-stayed main bridge marks an important milestone in the construction process of the project, creating a premise to strive to complete the entire project, put it into use before September 2, 2025, shortening the completion progress by about 6 months compared to the contract".

When the Rach Mieu 2 Bridge Construction Project is completed, it will be a very important "piece" to contribute to completing the existing traffic network, reducing traffic congestion and accidents, and at the same time promoting the effectiveness of already built projects such as: Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong - My Thuan - Can Tho Expressway and Co Chien Bridge, Ham Luong Bridge... shortening the time from Ho Chi Minh City to the provinces of Tien Giang, Ben Tre, Tra Vinh, Soc Trang, Bac Lieu, Ca Mau.

When completed, Rach Mieu 2 Bridge will contribute to improving the existing traffic network, reducing traffic congestion and accidents.

3. Launching the Project to preserve, restore and promote the historical value of the Ho Chi Minh Sea Trail (phase 2)

On April 22, 2025, at the Conservation, Restoration and Promotion Area of ​​the Historical Value of the Ho Chi Minh Sea Trail (Thanh Hai Commune, Thanh Phu District), the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Provincial Management Board of Civil and Industrial Construction Investment Projects jointly held the launching ceremony of the Project to conserve, restore and promote the historical value of the Ho Chi Minh Sea Trail (Phase 2).

The project to preserve, restore and promote the historical value of the Ho Chi Minh Sea Trail (phase 2) is located in Thanh Phong commune, Thanh Hai, Thanh Phu district with a total land area of ​​104,245m2 , including 103,528m2 in the Con Bung area and 717m2 in the Khau Bang estuary area. Restore and build new main items such as: Sea-facing gate, fence gate, central memorial, rest stop, exhibition house, reliefs, the total expected investment of the project is 110 billion VND (Hanoi People's Committee supports 100 billion VND and the rest is the local budget).

4. Groundbreaking ceremony of the Bung Lac Dia historical and cultural revolutionary relic site and the launching ceremony of the project to restore and embellish the architectural and artistic relic of Phu Le Communal House

On April 23, 2025, in Phu Le commune, Ba Tri district, the Provincial People's Committee held a groundbreaking ceremony for the Bung Lac Dia revolutionary historical and cultural relic site and the launching ceremony of the project to restore and embellish the Phu Le Communal House architectural and artistic relic.

The Lac Dia historical and cultural revolutionary relic project was approved by the Provincial People's Committee in Decision No. 3020, dated December 25, 2023. The Lac Dia historical and cultural revolutionary relic project is located in Phu Khuong hamlet, Phu Le commune, Ba Tri district. In terms of investment scale, the relic site has a total area of ​​about 130,113 m2 , divided into functional areas such as the central area, entertainment area, recreation area, restoration area, and resort area. Divided into 29 items. The total investment of the project is 89,983 billion VND, from the local budget.

The project to restore and embellish the architectural relic of Phu Le Communal House is invested by the Provincial People's Committee. The project has a total investment of 30 billion VND, from the budget in the medium-term public investment plan for the period 2021-2025. The restoration and embellishment of the architectural relic of Phu Le Communal House aims to preserve as much of the original elements of the relic as possible; accurately restore the elements that have been missing or lost during the existence of the relic; return the relic to its original shape; increase the sustainability of the relic... The project is in the stage of completing the dossier, expected to start construction in the fourth quarter of 2025. Phu Le Communal House was recognized as a National Architectural and Artistic Relic in 1993.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Be Muoi said: "The Lac Dia historical and cultural revolutionary relic site is of great significance to the economic, cultural and social development of the province. When the project is completed and put into use, together with other relics such as Phu Le Communal House architectural and artistic relic; Nguyen Ngoc Thang Communal House architectural and artistic relic; Nguyen Van Trac House relic; Nguyen Dinh Chieu Tomb and Memorial Site relic... will contribute to making the system of cultural and commemorative destinations combined with sightseeing and tourism in the province increasingly complete and develop. Thereby, attracting more visitors and tourists to the source, helping the local economy develop, improving the material and spiritual life of the people".

5. Inauguration of the project to upgrade and reinforce the Tam Hiep sandbank embankment against landslides

On April 26, 2025, the Management Board of Investment Projects for Construction of Agricultural Works and Rural Development coordinated with the People's Committee of Binh Dai District to organize the inauguration ceremony of the Project to Upgrade and Reinforce the Anti-Landslide Dike of Tam Hiep Islet, Binh Dai District.

Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Tran Thanh Lam, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Be Muoi and leaders of departments, branches, and localities cut the ribbon to inaugurate the project to upgrade and reinforce the Tam Hiep sandbank to prevent landslides.

The project to upgrade and prevent landslides on the Tam Hiep islet dike has a total length of more than 20km; the cost is about 325 billion VND. The completion of the dike helps prevent riverbank landslides, prevent high tides, proactively prevent salinity, store fresh water, regulate water to facilitate production, contribute to minimizing damage caused by natural disasters and protect people's lives, stabilizing the economy of more than 3,000 households in the area. In addition, the reinforcement and upgrading helps protect about 565 hectares of agricultural land, mainly longan and coconut gardens, creating conditions for the transition to livelihood models that adapt to climate change.

6. Opening of the access road to Rach Mieu 2 Bridge

On the morning of April 27, 2025, at the intersection of National Highway 57B with the service road and the main road of Rach Mieu 2 bridge in Chau Thanh town (formerly An Khanh commune), Chau Thanh district, the opening ceremony of the service road to Rach Mieu 2 bridge took place.

The Rach Mieu 2 Bridge Access Road Project includes the right and left access roads with a total length of 18.1km, 8m wide roadbed, 7m wide road surface, designed speed of 40km/h, designed axle load of 10 tons, bridges on the route include: Ba Lai, Tam Son, Song Ma. The total investment of the project is 1,158 billion VND, invested by the central budget supported by the Socio-economic Recovery and Development Program and local counterpart budget.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh Canh spoke at the opening ceremony: "Along with the construction project of Rach Mieu 2 Bridge invested by the Ministry of Transport (now the Ministry of Construction) which was completed on April 19, 2025, the access road to Rach Mieu 2 Bridge is identified as one of the key projects of Ben Tre province in the period of 2021 - 2025, a highlight to continue to fully exploit the potential for socio-economic development of the province... The opening ceremony of the access road to Rach Mieu 2 Bridge marks an important link in the construction process of the project, creating a premise for completing the entire investment project to build Rach Mieu 2 Bridge connecting Tien Giang and Ben Tre provinces before September 2, 2025".

7. Technical energization of 3 transformer stations and 110kV lines

On April 29, 2025, Southern Power Corporation coordinated with the Provincial People's Committee to organize the technical energization ceremony of the following projects: An Hiep 110kV Transformer Station and Ben Tre - An Hiep 110kV Line; Giao Long - Phu Thuan 110kV Line; Phu Thuan 110kV Station.

General Director of Southern Power Corporation Nguyen Phuoc Duc spoke at the ceremony: “In the 2020-2025 period, Southern Power Corporation will invest over VND 2,260 billion to develop the power grid in Ben Tre. In the 2020-2024 period, VND 1,012 billion has been invested; by 2025, Southern Power Corporation will have invested the remaining approximately VND 1,000 billion for power projects in the province...”.

In the exciting atmosphere of the energization ceremony, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Truc Son emphasized: "The completion and technical energization of the 3 projects will transmit enough electricity for local socio-economic development, solving the problem of supplying electricity for high-tech marine shrimp farming; supplying electricity to existing industrial parks and clusters, industrial parks and clusters that have been planned in the coming period. Especially, releasing the capacity of renewable energy sources for existing wind power plants in Ba Tri, Binh Dai and Thanh Phu districts. Contributing to the successful implementation of the resolution in 2025, which is the last year to complete the targets of the Resolution of the 11th Provincial Party Congress, term 2020-2025 and prepare for the next term".
