Tan Phu Tay Youth join hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses

BDK - In recent times, union members and young people in the province have coordinated with local authorities, departments, branches and organizations to speed up the implementation of the Program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses and have achieved many remarkable results, demonstrating the spirit of volunteerism of the province's youth. The commune union and the Vietnam Youth Union Committee of Tan Phu Tay commune (Mo Cay Bac) are a typical example of the spirit of volunteerism.

The shock team to clear temporary and dilapidated houses in Tan Phu Tay commune enthusiastically supported the people.

Tan Phu Tay commune has 6 hamlets, 83 self-governing people's groups, with 2,209 households, 6,934 thousand people, 31 poor households (accounting for 1.41% of the total households), 23 near-poor households (accounting for 1.04% of the total households). In March 2025, the shock team to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in Tan Phu Tay commune was established; with the militia and self-defense force and 11 members (TV) under the Tan Phu Tay Commune Youth Union (Standing Committee of the Commune Youth Union with 5 TV and 6 Hamlet Youth Union Secretaries) as the core in propaganda and mobilization work for local union members and young people.

Young man Ngo Tuan Kiet, residing in Tan Hoa Ngoai hamlet, shared: “I am very happy and excited to be able to contribute to the local community to support the community. Hardship is inevitable, but with the strength and perseverance of youth, we are willing to contribute to help and support difficult circumstances in the locality.”

Tan Phu Tay Commune Youth Union has 9 branches (6 hamlets, 1 military branch, 1 kindergarten branch and 1 school branch); with 118 core members. The Vietnam Youth Union Committee of Tan Phu Tay Commune has 75 core members participating in activities. The Executive Committee of the Commune Youth Union and the Vietnam Youth Union Committee of Tan Phu Tay Commune mobilized members to contribute 7 million VND and working days to implement the Program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the locality.

Mr. Nguyen Van Chien, 65 years old, residing in Tan Thuan Ngoai hamlet, confided: “I sincerely thank the attention of the Party, the State and the locality for me. The happiness is hard to describe, the simple thatched roof of the past has now become a solid house. The long-cherished wish has come true. Life alone is more comfortable in the new solid house thanks to the support of the community.”

The Standing Committee of Tan Phu Tay Commune Youth Union has promoted propaganda and mobilization work to enthusiastically and actively participate in supporting the Program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the locality. In coordination with the Commune People's Committee as well as directly contacting households in need of support, the Standing Committee of the Commune Youth Union and the Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union of Tan Phu Tay Commune will gather members and youth to carry out tasks according to the plan such as: supporting people in the process of dismantling old dilapidated houses to build new houses; transporting construction materials; supporting the installation of electricity and water after the project is completed...

Tan Phu Tay Commune Youth Union Secretary Chau Quoc Dat said: The program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses is an opportunity for local youth to contribute their youth to the community. In addition, this is also a favorable environment for each young person to experience, practice and improve themselves, carry out many meaningful and practical works and tasks in the task of building the homeland and the country. The Standing Committee of the Commune Youth Union has deployed the program to the hamlet youth unions with the consensus and volunteerism in participating in helping people with housing difficulties in the locality.

The locality has implemented the Program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses, through 2 phases, with 14 newly built houses and 1 repaired house, with funding from the commune budget as well as the Ministry of National Defense and strong mobilization of sponsors. The program has achieved many favorable results, ensuring the roadmap set by the Central and Provincial Party Committees, and will be completed by mid-June 2025. The Party Committee, government, departments, branches and local organizations join hands and unanimously implement the program; in which, the Commune Youth Union is always proactive and active with the spirit of youth".
