Attending the press conference were leaders of the Department of Information and Communications; representatives of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department; leaders and reporters of provincial and central press agencies stationed in Lao Cai province.

In the 2024-2025 school year, the province will have 594 schools, 8,231 classes with more than 235,000 students. The system of boarding and semi-boarding schools for ethnic minorities; schools with semi-boarding students will develop strongly and become increasingly complete, becoming the coreof education in mountainous areas. Investment in school and classroom facilities will be increased, the rate of solid classrooms will reach 82% (an increase of 7.1% compared to 2020).

The quality of comprehensive education has made steady and clear progress. Lao Cai continues to maintain high results in the national excellent student selection exam with 71, including 2 first prizes, 7 second prizes, 24 third prizes, 38 consolation prizes, of which this is the first year the province has had first prizes in Mathematics and History in this exam. Notably, 2 candidates were selected to compete in the selection round for the international and regional Olympic teams; 1 student was selected to participate in the Asian Informatics Olympiad...

Mr. Do Minh Tam, Deputy Director of Lao Cai Department of Education and Training, spoke.

To prepare well for the 2025 high school graduation exam, as soon as the 12th grade curriculum ended, high schools in the province arranged a reasonable schedule for focused review and guided students to self-review.

This year, the whole province has 9,271 candidates taking the High School Graduation Exam, 27 exam locations. It is expected that more than 2,000 officials and teachers will participate in organizing the exam.

The education sector has developed a plan to coordinate with relevant units to ensure security, safety, handle unusual situations and organize the exam; a plan to support candidates... Districts, towns and cities all have plans to support students with difficult circumstances in the locality to take the exam.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Do Minh Tam, Deputy Director of Lao Cai Department of Education and Training, affirmed the support and coordination of press agencies in informing and disseminating the achievements of the sector. In the coming time, the Department of Education and Training hopes that the provincial and central press agencies will continue to coordinate and increase information on the education sector, focusing on good and creative practices, typical advanced examples of the sector to spread in society. Along with that are the issues raised for the education and training sector of the province.

Delegates gave their opinions on propaganda coordination work in the coming time.

At the meeting, representatives of news agencies and press agencies contributed ideas to continue improving the quality and effectiveness of coordination between the education sector and press agencies. At the same time, they requested the Department of Education and Training to create favorable conditions for reporters to work at educational institutions; continue to coordinate to provide timely information to the press, especially on current events.
