Speaking at the opening of the workshop, Mr. Dang Anh Tuan - Deputy General Director of Vietnam Airlines Corporation said that throughout its formation and development, Vietnam Airlines has always identified its role as a bridge to exchange and promote Vietnamese tourism and culture to the world. With that mission, Heritage magazine was born - one of the indispensable parts of Vietnam Airlines.

Heritage Magazine has successfully fulfilled its mission of being the first Vietnamese cultural touchpoint on flights, and an interesting means of entertainment for Vietnam Airlines passengers. Through carefully selected and meticulously edited articles and images, Heritage has consistently promoted the good values of Vietnamese culture, history, and people to the world , and has been highly appreciated by domestic and foreign readers.
Going beyond the framework of an in-flight magazine, Heritage has become the leading magazine in Vietnam, in terms of brand, quality of content provided to readers and advertising revenue brought to Vietnam Airlines.
According to Mr. Dang Anh Tuan, facing the inevitable trend of electronic newspapers, Herilage has been making efforts for many years to implement both print and electronic information channels in parallel. Along with the requirement of transforming the model with new functions and tasks, Heritage is positioned as an information center providing entertainment services for Vietnam Airlines on many information channels.

"With a special distribution channel on airplanes, we still hope that Heritage Magazine publications will be present on flights in the near future as they have been for the past 31 years. When digital media develops rapidly, paper publications are the best condensed information and become the few effective ones" , Mr. Dang Anh Tuan emphasized.
At the Discussion: The role of Heritage in foreign information work, Dr. Nguyen Dong Anh - Deputy Head of the Department of Communication and Foreign Culture, Diplomatic Academy, said that each information publication and media must have its own principles, purposes and "own story" to create "the value of difference".

As a unit that has just had extensive cooperation with Heritage, the representative of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Thai Nguyen, Mr. Le Ngoc Linh - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Thai Nguyen said that more than 1 year ago on May 11, 2023, the People's Committee of Thai Nguyen province and Vietnam Airlines signed an agreement on Cooperation in Tourism Development and Trade Promotion for the period 2023-2027 with 9 content groups, including 5 content groups coordinating propaganda, tourism promotion and cultural activities. Most recently, in early June, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Thai Nguyen cooperated with Heritage to conduct a photo tour to promote images of Thai Nguyen tourism culture imbued with national identity.
Mr. Le Ngoc Linh hopes that in the coming time, the cooperation between Thai Nguyen and Heritage magazine will be strengthened to implement more rich and unique content, contributing to increasing the value of the image and brand of Thai Nguyen tourism, especially associated with 4 lines of tea culture products, as well as organizing many activities to experience and explore Thai Nguyen tourism and culture.

Concluding the workshop, journalist Nguyen Duc Loi - Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association commented that Heritage magazine is like a "cultural bridge" introducing Vietnam's rich cultural heritage; promoting famous attractive tourist destinations of Vietnam with beautiful images, detailed and attractive information. The magazine publishes articles about international tourists' travel experiences in Vietnam, contributing to attracting international tourists to Vietnam.
"Heritage Magazine has contributed to enhancing the national position, through publishing articles about Vietnam's impressive socio-economic development achievements in recent years. The Magazine has strongly accompanied businesses by promoting the brands and products of Vietnamese enterprises," said journalist Nguyen Duc Loi.
In addition, Heritage Magazine has contributed to building the image of a friendly, hospitable Vietnam, rich in cultural traditions and internationally integrated; helping the international community better understand Vietnam, thereby contributing to promoting cooperative relations between Vietnam and other countries.

According to journalist Nguyen Duc Loi, the digital transformation era brings many new opportunities and challenges to the press. To survive and develop after this proud 30-year journey, Heritage Magazine needs to have a strategy to innovate content to attract and retain readers; develop more multimedia content such as videos, Infographics, podcasts, etc.; apply more strongly new technologies such as artificial intelligence, big data, etc. The magazine has a strategy on journalism economics to diversify new sources of revenue in addition to traditional sources.
In addition, journalist Nguyen Duc Loi emphasized that Heritage needs to strengthen international cooperation to share information and learn from each other, bringing Heritage publications further; demonstrating Vietnam's desire in international integration, which is "bringing Vietnam to the world and bringing the world to Vietnam".
