On December 18, in Hanoi , the National Economics University held a ceremony to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the Economics and Development Journal (1994-2024).
Speaking at the ceremony, Director of the National Economics University Pham Hong Chuong said: As the scientific mouthpiece of the National Economics University, over the past 30 years, with two versions in Vietnamese and English, the Journal of Economics and Development has published quality scientific research, becoming a reliable scientific forum for researchers and managers nationwide. Thereby, the journal not only makes an important contribution to improving the quality of training and scientific research of the National Economics University, contributing to making the university a national key university, a leading research-oriented university in the economic sector, but also contributing to the development of Vietnamese science.
In particular, at the end of 2023, the English version of the journal was officially included in the prestigious Scopus citation system and in 2024 continued to be indexed in the emerging ESCI citation system. This is an exceptionally outstanding achievement, bringing the school's name to the world scientific community. At the same time, the Vietnamese version continues to maintain its position and influence in the Vietnamese community and society.
Faced with new requirements in the country's development process, Director of the National Economics University Pham Hong Chuong suggested that for the English version, the journal should aim to maintain its position in international citation systems, gradually improve scientific quality, and firmly strengthen its presence in the world academic world. For the Vietnamese version, the journal continues to improve and perfect the publishing process, expand its domestic influence, and always be a valuable source of documents not only for scientists but also a theoretical support for policy makers, businesses, and the community. The National Economics University pledges to continue to strongly support and assist with all the resources that the National Economics University has now and in the future.

For the Vietnamese version, the journal is committed to maintaining its leading position in the country in the field of economic science and business administration, aiming to increase regional diversity, attracting original scientific works from scientists across the country. In addition, the journal aims to bring the Vietnamese version into the Southeast Asian Citation Index (ACI), ensuring that the publishing process meets all regional standards.
To achieve these goals, the editorial staff will constantly strive to improve their professional qualifications, maintain a professional spirit and publishing ethics, adhere to the strictest scientific publishing standards, continue the proud tradition of previous generations, and bring the Journal of Economics and Development to new heights.
On this occasion, the Economic and Development Magazine and two individuals received Certificates of Merit from the Minister of Education and Training for their outstanding achievements in the process of building and developing the magazine.
