On September 20, the Market Management Department of Thanh Hoa province coordinated with Pham and Joint Venture Law Company Limited, the legal representative in Vietnam of Honda Motor Company, to organize a conference on distinguishing genuine and fake Honda products.

In his opening speech, Le The Anh, Deputy Director of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Market Management Department, emphasized that in recent times, the Market Management Department has detected and resolutely handled many violations related to counterfeit goods and goods infringing intellectual property rights. However, the situation of trade fraud, counterfeit goods and goods infringing intellectual property rights is still complicated. Currently, counterfeiting and infringement of intellectual property rights of brands are taking place every day in the market and are becoming more and more sophisticated, causing many difficulties for the authorities in detecting, checking and handling. Therefore, it is necessary to have close and timely coordination between the right holders and production units from the stage of identifying signs of violations to the stage of verification and appraisal as a basis for handling violations.

A representative of Honda Vietnam Company said that every year, tens of thousands of fake spare parts are seized, focusing on safety features such as brake pads and brake lines, directly affecting customer safety and vehicle longevity. Along with that, stamps, lubricants, and signs that do not conform to Honda Vietnam's structural specifications are also counterfeited very sophisticatedly and sold on the market.

Therefore, at the training session, Mr. Nguyen The Nam, an expert of Pham & Joint Venture Law Company Limited, discussed and instructed some ways to distinguish genuine and fake products of Honda Vietnam products, focusing on the main groups including: car and motorbike brands, spare parts, lubricants, store design, industrial design and trademark violations of some Honda motorbike models.

At the same time, introduce new regulations of the Law on Intellectual Property and some legal issues related to handling violations of Intellectual Property.
