After the Provincial People's Committee issued it at the beginning of this year, the action plan to implement the Project on restructuring the Industry and Trade sector until 2030 in Binh Thuan has been launched. The plan's goal is to promote economic restructuring, innovate the growth model as well as mobilize and use resources rationally and effectively. At the same time, develop and apply science and technology, innovation to promote green growth, focusing on industrial development - one of the three economic pillars of Binh Thuan. In which, the core sectors are identified as energy industry, processing and manufacturing industry, and high-tech industry.
Regarding industry, the locality continues to mobilize resources, promote the development of the industry to become a driving force for the socio-economic development of the province, especially focusing on restructuring towards improving productivity, high added value and efficiency... With the current potential and conditions, Binh Thuan is also determined to promote the development of the energy industry to turn the southernmost coastal region of the Central region into the national energy center. Accordingly, it takes into account the priority solution of developing liquefied natural gas (LNG), renewable energy, especially the huge potential of offshore wind power to attract investment according to the planning and plans approved by competent authorities.
In this field, the province will call for investment in developing the agricultural - forestry - fishery processing industry, products with advantages of Binh Thuan and supporting industries for the energy sector. Or investing in the production of raw materials, accessories for the textile - garment, leather - footwear industries, production of electrical equipment, electronic components, new materials, high-tech industry, mechanics, construction materials... Along with that, promoting the development of plans and gradually implementing the planning for exploration, exploitation, processing and use of minerals approved by the Prime Minister so that Binh Thuan can become the Center of titanium mining and processing industry.
Investment in infrastructure completion
To implement the plan to achieve the set goals, Binh Thuan continues to mobilize resources to invest in infrastructure to serve the development needs of the local industry. In addition to Phan Thiet Industrial Park Phase 1, the infrastructure will first be completed and secondary projects will be filled in the existing industrial parks: Phan Thiet Phase 2, Ham Kiem 1, Ham Kiem 2, Song Binh and Tuy Phong. Focus on removing difficulties and obstacles as well as creating favorable conditions for early investment in completing infrastructure, attracting investors to industrial parks in the South of Binh Thuan such as: Tan Duc, Son My 1, Son My 2...
Next is to deploy the formation of Ham Tan - La Gi Industrial - Urban - Service Park, promote the establishment of a Project to establish a High-tech Park and strive to form a modern High-tech Industrial Park, at the same time plan a High-tech Industrial Park in a suitable, convenient, and attractive location to attract investors... In the coming time, the locality also sets a goal of striving for each district, town, and city to have 1-2 industrial clusters with complete infrastructure investment to attract secondary investment projects. On the other hand, it is also studying and proposing the formation of an industrial cluster with a favorable location to attract investment in projects of factories producing auxiliary equipment for the energy industry.
Especially with energy infrastructure, the province will promptly support to remove obstacles and difficulties in the process of investing in developing energy projects and works. Pay attention to attracting investment, arranging land funds for projects, power plants, power lines and transformer stations in the power planning approved by competent authorities. Including the Son My I LNG Thermal Power Plant project and the Son My II LNG Thermal Power Plant project (total capacity of 4,500 MW) are considered national key projects, of great significance, promoting the development of Binh Thuan's energy industry... In addition, investors are often urged to speed up the progress of infrastructure construction and promote the attraction of secondary projects to ensure the occupancy rate in industrial parks and clusters in the province.
