Tied for fourth place are a number of big-name golfers. Notably, there is the 2021 FedEx Cup play-off winner Patrick Cantlay (USA).
Equal to Patrick Cantlay are Tommy Fleetwood (England) and Jacob Bridgeman (USA), with a total score of -12 strokes each.
World number two golfer Rory McIlroy (Northern Ireland) also played well. He had a total score of -10 strokes, ranked T7.
The Truist Championship takes place just before the PGA Championship, the tennis equivalent of a Grand Slam, kicks off this weekend.
Therefore, the high performance of strong golfers at the Truist Championship is a premise to help them hope to compete for achievements at the PGA Championship.
