Dr. Cao Viet Tung, Deputy Director of the National Children's Hospital, said that on the occasion of International Children's Day, June 1, in order to help children in hospital not be disadvantaged and create a joyful playground for them, the hospital coordinated with sponsors to organize the program "Children's Festival".

From 8am, many children, with IVs and bandages on their arms, were taken around the fair booths by their relatives to receive attractive gifts such as teddy bears, toys, backpacks, artistic balloons, candy, milk, etc.
Dinh Trieu Nhi (6 years old, in Son La ) appeared alert and happy after the surgery for a broken arm performed on May 30. The patient's father said that when he arrived at the operating room, he was given a ticket to participate in the fair. This morning, when he woke up, he asked for an early breakfast to go to the fair and receive gifts.

The two 1-year-old twin babies of a young couple in Hanoi were also excited when their parents carried them around the stalls to receive gifts.
Both children were hospitalized for pneumonia treatment for 3 days. “Normally I just take my children for a walk in the hospital and the playground, but this morning there was a fun fair, a racing area, playing in the sand… the children were very excited and happy,” the patient’s mother shared.

According to Dr. Tung, on average, the National Children's Hospital receives 4,000-5,000 children for examination every day, and about 2,000 children are hospitalized, many of whom are serious cases requiring long-term treatment.
The organizers prepared 23,000 gifts including backpacks, books, toys, teddy bears, candy, milk... At the fair area alone, 2,300 gifts were given to the children.
Dr. Tung said that the total cost of organizing the program is estimated at more than 1.3 billion VND, including gifts, artifacts, and artistic and entertainment activities.
From May 15 to May 29, the hospital's Social Work Department connected and received funding to support the treatment of more than 500 disadvantaged patients, with a total amount of more than 850 million VND.
Nearly 1,000 gifts were also sent directly to the children in the hospital rooms. In addition, about 3,560 salty meals, 215 vegetarian meals, 100 breakfast meals, and 560 free porridge meals were sent to the children by benefactors on this occasion.
Previously, on the afternoon of May 29, the Hospital also organized a special art program for children on the occasion of Children's Day.
