Ten Hag is sought after

According to the Dutch newspaper AD , Ten Hag had a friendly meeting with Ajax CEO Alex Kroes earlier this week. This action raised public suspicions about the possibility of a reunion between the two sides.

Dutch media said that Kroes was seriously considering a change of coach, and Ten Hag was considered the number one candidate. However, Ten Hag still seemed hesitant, because Ajax currently no longer has a squad of talented players like the time of Frenkie de Jong, Matthijs de Ligt or Hakim Ziyech.

Ajax under coach John Heitinga is currently in crisis. After 11 rounds in the domestic league, the club has only 5 wins and is 8 points behind the top team Feyenoord.

In the Champions League, Ajax's form is even more disastrous, losing to Inter Milan, Marseille, Chelsea and most recently a 0-3 home defeat to Galatasaray in the early morning of November 6. Ten Hag had four successful years at Ajax (2018–2022), helping the team win many domestic titles and reach the semi-finals of the 2019 Champions League. However, since he left to lead MU, Ajax has lost its inherent identity.
