Bui Vi Hao returns to U22 Vietnam. |
According to the announcement of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), the list of 26 players gathered this time includes almost all the key players who participated in the Southeast Asian U23 tournament and the 2026 Asian U23 qualifiers. In the goalkeeper position, three familiar names including Tran Trung Kien (HAGL), Cao Van Binh (SLNA) and Nguyen Tan (Ho Chi Minh City Police) continue to be trusted.
The U22 Vietnam defense has a combination of players with experience in V.League such as Vo Anh Quan, Nguyen Hieu Minh (PVF-CAND), Dinh Quang Kiet (HAGL) and Pham Ly Duc (CAHN). This helps coach Kim Sang-sik have many options in the defensive scheme.
The return of Dang Tuan Phong (The Cong) also brings more depth to the defense. The midfield continues to be the team's strong point when it gathers many outstanding faces, including: Nguyen Van Truong ( Hanoi ), Khuat Van Khang (The Cong), Nguyen Thai Son (Thanh Hoa) and Viktor Le (Ha Tinh).
These are all players who have established their position at the club level and have international experience. In addition, U22 Vietnam called up a player who is in good form at CA TP.HCM Club, Nguyen Thai Quoc Cuong, a player who is strong in transitions.
On the offensive front, the focus is on the return of Bui Vi Hao (Becamex TP.HCM). The striker, born in 2003, was a mainstay in Vietnam's youth teams, possessing good acceleration and finishing abilities. His return helps coach Kim Sang-sik have another effective option alongside familiar names such as Nguyen Thanh Nhan (PVF-CAND), Nguyen Quoc Viet ( Ninh Binh ) and Nguyen Dinh Bac (CAHN).
