On November 22 in Quy Nhon City, the People's Committee of Binh Dinh Province coordinated with the Thai Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City to organize a meeting with Thai businesses in Binh Dinh Province. The conference proposed that Binh Dinh Province have policies to encourage and support airlines of the two countries to open direct flights to Quy Nhon.
Attending the conference were Ms. Wiraka Moodhitaporn, Consul General of Thailand in Ho Chi Minh City and Mr. Praween Wirotpan, President of the Thai Business Association in Vietnam, along with leaders of ministries, branches and leaders of Binh Dinh province.

At the conference, Mr. Ho Quoc Dung, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Binh Dinh province, said that in recent times, Binh Dinh province and the Thai Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City have successfully organized many investment and trade promotion campaigns in Thailand. Thereby, they have connected, worked, and signed memorandums of understanding with many localities, businesses, and partners of Thailand, opening up new cooperation prospects in many fields.
To date, 10 projects of Thai investors have been implemented in Binh Dinh province with a total registered capital of over 106 million USD, mainly in the fields of industrial production, trade and services, notably the Binh Dinh animal feed factory project of CP Group, with a total investment of 36 million USD; Avani Quy Nhon Resort and Spa project, with an investment capital of over 19.4 million USD. Import-export turnover between Binh Dinh province and Thailand in the 10 months of 2024 reached over 5 million USD.
Through this conference, the leaders of Binh Dinh province hope that this will be a good start for the wave of investment from Thai enterprises in Binh Dinh, for the benefit and development of both sides.

The tourism development cooperation activities between the two sides have recently shown many positive signs, contributing to bringing the image of Binh Dinh tourism closer to Thai tourists. Mr. Nguyen Trung Khanh, Director of the Vietnam National Tourism Administration (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) said that this conference is also an opportunity to introduce the destinations and unique and outstanding tourism products of Binh Dinh province in particular, and the South Central Coast region of Vietnam in general to Thai agencies, tourism businesses and investors.
According to Mr. Khanh, for Thailand, Vietnam is a close and important partner in bilateral and multilateral cooperation frameworks on tourism, and is the third largest tourist market in ASEAN. Vietnamese tourists to Thailand reached nearly 1.05 million in 2019, recovering almost completely in 2023 with nearly 1.03 million.
"We propose that the People's Committee of Binh Dinh province have policies to encourage and support airlines of the two countries to open direct flights connecting major tourist cities of Thailand to Binh Dinh to create a boost for tourist exchange and direct investment. The People's Committee of Binh Dinh province should pay more attention to, step up promotion activities, cooperation, and promote the development of two-way relations between Binh Dinh tourism and major cities and tourist centers of Thailand...", Mr. Khanh said.

At the conference, Ms. Wiraka Moodhitaporn, Consul General of Thailand in Ho Chi Minh City, said that this conference aims to create opportunities for Thai state agencies and businesses to learn about the potential of Binh Dinh province, promote trade, investment, tourism relations, as well as build cooperation networks at different levels. On the occasion of this conference, the People's Committee of Binh Dinh province and the Thai Business Association in Vietnam agreed to sign a memorandum of understanding. Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation and exchange of experience and practices in trade and investment development between the two sides.
