Innovation of health sector training program towards capacity and integration

On the afternoon of October 17, the National Scientific Conference with the theme "Training in the health sector at Cuu Long University - opportunities and challenges" was held at Cuu Long University in both in-person and online formats.

Attending the workshop were leaders of health departments and hospitals of provinces and cities in the Mekong Delta; especially about 500 scientists who are leading experts in the field of health sciences participating in the workshop.

In the opening speech, Associate Professor, Dr. Luong Minh Cu, President of Cuu Long University, briefly introduced the training situation of medical and health sectors in the world , in Vietnam, the Mekong Delta region and Cuu Long University.

"In the face of new challenges and trends, improving the quality of health sector training at Cuu Long University is an inevitable requirement. The school needs to synchronously implement the following solutions: innovate training programs towards capacity and integration; develop a team of high-quality lecturers; strengthen facilities and clinical simulation rooms; promote cooperation and clinical practice; strengthen inspection and quality assurance to improve the quality of health sector training...", Associate Professor, Dr. Luong Minh Cu said.

The conference received 68 articles from about 80 authors who are scientists; leaders, lecturers of universities and colleges; medical facilities across the country; 9 direct presentations by experts in the field of health sciences on solutions to improve the quality of training in health sectors at university and postgraduate levels at Cuu Long University; some contents on opportunities and challenges in training in health sectors in Vinh Long; solutions to strengthen international cooperation in internships, employment and exchange of lecturers and students. The workshop aims to create opportunities for exchanging and connecting knowledge between scientists in the field of health sciences. In particular, in the context of integration, health training is one of the key tasks of universities in Vietnam, contributing to improving the quality of health training, serving the needs of society.

On this occasion, Cuu Long University organized a signing ceremony of cooperation with 7 hospitals and enterprises in the fields of education, training, and scientific research, expanding opportunities for health students to participate in internships and practice at hospitals.
