Thai Nguyen: Distilling the quintessence and spreading the identity of OCOP products

On November 28, the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Thai Nguyen province organized the contest "OCOP Thai Nguyen - Distilling the quintessence - Spreading identity" in 2025.

This year's contest took place with many contents, the subjects were OCOP subjects of Thai Nguyen province whose products were recognized as 3 stars, 4 stars to participate in presentations and product introductions.

The teams will introduce the quality, product story, local cultural values ​​associated with the product. In addition, the teams will present designs, packaging and label improvements, business orientation, product development strategies, innovation results, application of science and technology and digital transformation in production and business.

According to Vice Chairwoman of Thai Nguyen Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Loan, after the merger, Thai Nguyen's development space will expand, and diverse cultural and ecological resources and identities will create opportunities to promote strengths in eco-tourism, endemic agriculture , and OCOP products typical of the midland region.

In that context, the contest "OCOP Thai Nguyen - Distilling the quintessence - Spreading identity" has practical meaning, honoring typical products representing the identity, intelligence, and quintessence of Thai Nguyen land and people.

The contest will arouse the spirit of innovation, improve the quality and competitiveness of OCOP products, strengthen trade connections, and promote the image of Thai Nguyen province to domestic and foreign tourists.

The Organizing Committee will award the prizes “OCOP product with the best development orientation”; “OCOP product with the best presentation and story”; “OCOP product with the most impressive packaging”; “Most favorite OCOP product” (award voted by the audience) and several other secondary prizes.

Within the framework of the contest, there were also activities to display and introduce OCOP products, experience areas, and introduce specialties of Thai Nguyen province and some neighboring provinces.

Sideline activities include the thematic discussion program: "Developing OCOP products in a sustainable direction - innovating packaging, designs, product stories" and the discussion "Connecting OCOP product consumption on digital platforms and modern distribution systems".

On this occasion, the OCOP Business Association of Thai Nguyen province also introduced the Executive Committee for the 2025-2030 term.

It is known that over the years, Thai Nguyen province has always identified the OCOP program as a key solution to promote internal resources, increase the value of agricultural products and arouse creativity in rural areas.

Up to now, Thai Nguyen province has 561 OCOP products, of which 10 products have achieved 5-star national level (ranked 3rd in the country), 113 4-star products with 323 participating entities being enterprises, cooperatives, cooperative groups and business households.

Many OCOP products of the province have standardized quality, improved product designs and packaging, applied digital technology, traced origin, and consumed not only domestically but also exported, contributing to increasing people's income, preserving traditional crafts and building the Thai Nguyen agricultural product brand.
