ThaiGroup plans to cooperate with Barcelona to build a 90ha super football academy

Ninh Binh Club, with the support of Barcelona, ​​is planning to build an extremely high-quality youth training center.

During the working trip, the delegation visited La Masia Academy - a symbol of world youth football and the birthplace of legends such as Lionel Messi, Xavi Hernandez and Andres Iniesta. The delegation also worked with the Board of Directors of Barcelona Club to learn more about the training strategy, facilities and how to operate the academy according to international standards. The trip was not only a preparation step for the construction of a modern football academy in Ninh Binh, but also demonstrated the aspiration to elevate Vietnamese football through a systematic training ecosystem.

The football academy promises to be part of the strategy of developing sports in association with tourism and local economy of Ninh Binh province.

According to ThaiGroup's plan, this impressive football academy project will be built on an area of ​​nearly 90 hectares in Ninh Son Ward, Hoa Lu City, Ninh Binh Province, with a scale of up to 20 modern football fields. The goal is for the academy to reach 3-star standards and be recognized by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC). Currently, Asia has only 3 academies that have achieved this high level, including Vietnam's PVF Youth Football Training Center, Aspire Academy (Qatar) and Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors FC Academy (Korea). If this project is successful, Vietnam will have another academy in this elite list, besides PVF.

The academy not only focuses on training young talents according to European methods but also aims to create an ideal training and competition environment. Notably, the U19 League system is organized, helping young players compete from 40 to 50 matches per year - a practical platform for training, accumulating experience and comprehensive development.

In addition, with modern facilities and favorable weather conditions, especially in winter, the academy is also expected to become an ideal destination for clubs and teams from Japan, Korea, Asia and Europe to come and train. This is also part of the strategy to develop sports in conjunction with tourism and local economy of Ninh Binh province.

Notably, before meeting with Barcelona, ​​Phu Dong Ninh Binh Club had contacts with many other famous academies such as Ajax and Feyenoord of the Netherlands. Phu Dong Ninh Binh Club has just won the right to be promoted to V.League after winning the First Division with an unbeaten record and only one draw, promoted three rounds early - the second best achievement in the history of the tournament.
