According to historical records, Dinh Le was a brave man, with many strategies and martial arts skills. In the early days of the Lam Son uprising, he followed Le Loi to fight in the Chi Linh area, experiencing many hardships. In the year of Giap Thin (1424), he helped Le Loi achieve great success in fighting the Ming invaders in the Kha Luu area, so he was given the title of Tu Khong. In 1425, when Le Loi sent him to patrol Dien Chau (present-day Nghe An ), he ambushed and defeated the Ming invaders at the bases of Tot Dong and Chuc Dong. Our army won a great victory, beheaded the enemy's minister Tran Hiep and destroyed 300 enemy soldiers. Then, Dinh Le participated in the siege of Dong Quan citadel and the battle of Tot Dong - Chuc Dong. After his death, in 1428, King Le Loi ascended the throne and posthumously awarded him the title of Nhap Noi Kiem Hieu Tu Do. During the reign of King Le Thanh Tong, he was appointed Grand Tutor Ban Quoc Cong, and later promoted to Hien Khanh Vuong.
Currently, not many documents related to Dinh Bo have been collected, but at My Lam temple, the royal decree from the 9th year of King Khai Dinh (1925) is still preserved.
In addition to Dinh Bo, there was also Dinh Liet, a talented general who fought and died with Le Loi to defeat the Ming invaders and establish the Le So dynasty in the 15th century. According to the book "Dai Viet Thong Su" by Le Quy Don: When Le Loi was preparing to raise the flag of uprising, Dinh Liet, along with his brothers Dinh Le and Dinh Bo, actively responded to the cause. Dinh Liet was one of the 19 people who attended the Lung Nhai Oath, and was also one of the very few people who attended this oath who were lucky enough to witness the great victory. In his youth, he was a handsome, intelligent, brave young man who soon revealed the qualities of a person with great ambition.
During 10 years of following the Lam Son army to fight against the Ming army, he showed his absolute loyalty to Le Loi, overcame many hardships, and achieved many feats in the battles to capture Chau Tra Lan, attack Nghe An citadel, and capture Do Gia (now in Huong Son district, Nghe An province). Most notably, in the Chi Lang battle, he and his generals surrounded and destroyed the enemy, beheaded Lieu Thang, and contributed to defeating 100,000 reinforcements... He was assigned to the position of Thiet Dot commander. Later, he was the one who made great contributions with Le Lang and Nguyen Xi to suppress the Nghi Dan rebels, bring Le Tu Thanh, also known as King Le Thanh Tong, to the throne, and continue to build the prosperous Le dynasty. He was also the one who made great contributions in fighting the Champa invaders to keep the border peaceful and expand the country to the South.
During the resistance war against the Ming invaders, the three brothers Dinh Le, Dinh Bo, and Dinh Liet were all generals of the Le So dynasty, and were awarded the title of "Dinh Thuong Hau". They were generals when they lived, but when they died, they were worshiped by the people as the village's tutelary gods. The careers of the three historical figures have been recorded in national history. Currently, My Lam temple still preserves 8 royal decrees, including 3 royal decrees for Dinh Le, Dinh Bo, Dinh Liet and 5 royal decrees for the local tutelary gods.
According to the elders in the village, My Lam temple was formerly a wooden structure with a gate, a main road, a 5-room front hall, a 3-room middle hall and a back hall. Through historical events and natural disasters, the temple was completely destroyed. In 2000, with the consent of the local government and the consensus of the villagers, My Lam village rebuilt a new temple with a "T" shaped architecture.
To commemorate their contributions, on January 9 every year, the people of Minh Tien commune in general and My Lam village in particular hold a Praying for Blessings festival to express their respect and pray for national peace and prosperity, favorable weather, good crops, and at the same timeeducate the tradition of patriotism for today's young generations.
