Visit and learn experiences in building new rural areas in Nam Dinh and Hung Yen

(BD) - On December 27, the working delegation to learn experiences in building new rural areas of the province, led by Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development Bui Tan Thanh, visited and worked in Giao Thuy district ( Nam Dinh province).

Also attending were representatives of provincial departments and branches and Tuy Phuoc, Phu Cat and Phu My districts.

During the working trip, the delegation visited the smart new rural commune model in Giao Phong commune - one of 9 communes nationwide selected to pilot this model. The delegation highly appreciated the modern and synchronous infrastructure in the locality such as the Party Committee headquarters, People's Council, People's Committee,educational institutions, cultural houses, etc., meeting the working, transaction and study needs of cadres, people, teachers and students.

In particular, Giao Thuy district, although re-established since 1997, has made great strides in economic development and new rural construction. Since 2017, Giao Thuy district has become the 50th unit in the country to meet the new rural district standards. By 2022, it continued to be recognized as a district meeting advanced new rural standards, becoming one of the first 9 districts in the country to meet advanced new rural standards in the period 2021 - 2025. Currently, the district is making efforts to implement and complete the criteria of a model new rural district in the field of education.

At the meeting, the leaders of Giao Thuy District Party Committee shared the district's outstanding achievements in building new rural areas, especially in planning and attracting investment. The district has 19 planned industrial parks and clusters, including Hai Long Industrial Park with a scale of 1,100 hectares, which has attracted large investors. The budget revenue of Giao Thuy district in 2024 will reach nearly 2,000 billion VND, contributing to the strong development of the locality.

Leaders of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Binh Dinh also informed Giao Thuy district about Binh Dinh's achievements in economic development and the new rural construction program. Binh Dinh province currently has 91 communes completing the new rural program, 24 communes achieving advanced new rural standards and 7 districts achieving new rural standards.

The delegation expressed their desire to continue connecting, learning from experiences and receiving support from Giao Thuy district in implementing advanced, exemplary and smart NTM criteria in the coming time.

* Previously, on December 26, the working group to learn from the province's experience in building new rural areas had a meeting and worked with the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Office of Coordination for New Rural Area Construction of Hung Yen province and visited Van Giang district. Van Giang district is the first locality in Hung Yen province to be recognized as meeting advanced new rural standards.
